I am a self-professed Rotherham Owl and as such like the games against Rotherham. I don't dislike them as a club, their fans can be irritating but only when they're doing well so that shouldn't be a problem until they gone down again anyway and tbh i have been and watched them on the odd occasion over the years if we haven't had a game. My dad took me to Wednesday as a child and that's why i support them, i won't apologise or 'change my allegiance' because some Rotherham fans say i should support them. Obviously the local games are always better due to the banter you can have with mates and colleagues ect... but for me, as Walkley Owl says, we only have one real derby, that's United.

The Oxford English dictionary states "derby or local derby (British) A sports match between two rival teams from the same area".
So to me any game between South Yorkshire Clubs is a "derby".
Whether it means anything to you or not is totally irrelevant it's a derby, just enjoy it.
