Sell out crowd most likely, flags on every seat again. Disappointment this time as Zola makes an impact, and ends our clean sheet record at home.

Derby 0-1 Brum

It's hard to see past a home win today, our only hope is we always seem to get an unlikely result at Derby despite usually being played off the park.

15% possession and 1 shot on target

0-1

Hard fought win that.

Birmingham started well, but offered little after the first ten minutes or so.

Apparently we haven't conceded a goal at home since September.

The frightening thing is that we've won eight out of nine and still 10/12 points off top two. Thanks to Nigel Pearson for our shite start to the season.

Yeah, just about deserved it. Game was 60/40 in our favour, they didn't really get into our 18 nevermind threaten Carson.

Pretty shit game though, especially for the cameras.

The mighty Rams!!!
Thought the game typified what we are about. First half right, compact but creating very little. Second half, more purpose and better tempo creating a few more chances but clinical when one comes along. Strong at the back throughout although brum didn't look to be threatening anyway.

To say we've won 7/8 and not cemented in the plays offs shows that it's a massive task to get in amongst the more consistent teams in the league. See how we react to a few loses on the bounce or something.

Shit game, mildly miffed about the pen, it's a clear foul admittedly, but that goes unpunished in games 99.9% of the time, either give them all or give none.

That said we didn't offer enough to win the match and Derby deserved it overall.

The problem with sacking a popular manager is it puts the new man immediately under pressure, then you play the two in form sides in the league and lose them both, I fear some unsettled times ahead, reports of trouble between Blues fans, no doubt born from the Rowett/Zola situation.

Fair point TT.

I was surprised you were so limited in attack - usually that is Zola's stronger point.

It was the defending that often let us down.

He did ok for us but not sure that was down to him so much (apart from people a nice guy to the players which worked for a while..)

His hands are tied regarding the attacking options to be fair, we have currently only have one fit striker at the club (Juke), January will be the acid test for Zola with £10m or so in his back pocket to play with.

I didn't think it was a penalty myself but I can see why the referee bought it. Keogh made sure the ref's attention was drawn and took a tumble when contact was made. Careless from Morrison though.
