Dont hate anyone except the inbreds down in Argyle.

Don't like modern bowl stadiums and grounds in industrial estates either (e.g. Northampton, Yeovil, Milton Keynes FC, Wycombe etc. etc.)

Inner city stadiums with an easy walk to some decent pubs is where it's at.

So true Mr Latic. I am old enough to remember Cambridge in the southern league in the sixties, and the first league season in 1970. The percentage of gifted players was significantly higher. Cambridge have only one at the moment.
The rest are making up the numbers. Id say players that knew what to do with the ball back then outnumbered the donkeys.

I also used to watch Cambridge City occasionally lower down in the southern league. Some of those players were truly gifted, but were too fat, drunk, or didnt care. Those players still exist today, but dont get through the system. All managers want are donkeys who run all day, tackle, win high balls, and can run through walls. The product on the pitch at our level is appalling. Real football starts at the top of div 1, or div3.

I have a soft spot for Macclesfield, i worked up there a long time ago and witnessed Macc winning the Northern Premier league with Steve Burr up front. Its a shame he never played at a higher level, he was devastating back then.
We have a lot of history with Northampton, the old County ground with the cricket pitch had an atmosphere of its own. I have a sneaky like for Tranmere, Newport and Colchester for no particular reason.
Dislikes include Morecambe. A positive is that they are a football league club, no one outside Morecambe knows how that is achieved. Watching their highlights on tv fills me with depression. Their football is dire, they time waste, foul, and play the victim.
Forest Green are should have been playing someone like Bishops Cleeve or Mangotsfield today, but somehow are in the football league. If youve been there you will know thay play in a dog kennel.
To top it off, the owner bans burgers, and is a hippy with flowers in his hair. He even says its for our own good. Surely Forest Green being where they are is a disadvantage to the football community.
Sympathy for Notts County, not only have they shot themselves in the foot, but in both feet, and the head. Unfortunately no doctor can fix it. Can you imagine what a room is like that nobody has been in for thirty years. This is my image of Port Vale. Not only are there cobwebs, but you might fall through the floor. There might be a ghost in there. Shame.

Awww how very out of touch.

It was odd that your fans would replicate the silence in away fans, but given that thoroughly embarresing performance I can at least understand why
Strange. Our away fans are usually very good even when we are losing, which has been a decent chunk of our away games!

From what I can remember you & City were very even back then. Would also be incredible if you went down & BPA went up as well. I'm sure they were the team that you replaced in 1970.

Most teams (besides Mansfield who were silent) have good away followings and make a decent noise, a nice change from the 10 fans which were coming from away teams in our 3 non league years.

Dislikes, pretty much every home support is silent.

Haven't been to San Sincil yet......

Likes- some cracking away days without any (much) hassle and decent crack between home and away fans which doesn't happen the higher up the leagues you get. Morecambe is a favourite away day if only for Fish and Chips on the sea front with Eric after the game.

Easy to travel to and from most games (Yeovil parking away was 10 yards from the ticket office).

Police, except for higher profile games, are pretty relaxed and more than happy to engage in banter and chat.

Dislikes- neanderthals who still try to ruin our beautiful game though thankfully L2 doesn't get too many of them.

Toilets etc are pretty dire at some grounds (Cambridge away didn't even have a light bulb- how they hell I saw who/what/where I was p*ssing in the dark on the Saturday after Xmas I don't know).

Allocated/Unallocated seating- Lots of L2 fans really struggle to get their head around "sit where your ticket number tells you!"

Like - The amount of teams who think they are too big to get relegated into the conference but end up getting relegated (I thought the same in 08).

Dislike - Having a top 3 budget but still playing the likes of Crawley, Morecambe and Exeter every year (see you next year lads).

Likes - Morecambe is a nice away trip with minimal hassle and their fans were nice.
Also had sympathy for Vale with their owner even though they beat us.
Notts obsession with our attendances is always a laugh as well. As has their always entertaining owner.
Dislike - The Cowleys are awful.
Swindon wind me up for no real reason.
Always MK...Anybody who wants them to go up wants to give their head a shake.

Dislikes Lincoln fans who take the piss out of teams who at least try and play expansive modern possession football, when secretly they wish they could play that way too instead of the utter shithousery that the Cowleys serve up every week.

Dislikes - That Tamworth aren’t in this league, What an away day that is

It's got a SNOW DOME. Enough said.

Hello George, Yes you are right, United did replace Bradford PA. It was Cambridge City who were expected to get into the league, well before United did. They applied at the same time as Ipswich, and Ipswich got it by a whisker. Cambridge City in the old days were your Bristol City, United were the working class and poorer Rovers.

City had a massive ground at Milton Road, if it had been developed they could have built a stadium of any size they liked. United eventually overtook City because United were working class while City were the rich kids, funded by farmers. The main reason City failed is because they overspent, they signed players from the likes of Everton and Liverpool amongst others, coupled with disastrous financial management, it sank like a stone at the beginning of the seventies.

The other sorrow is that poor management has continued along with no support, anymore. They used to get gates up to 11,000. They will not rise again.

Yep, we're like the St Pauli of Cambridge. A class war in Cambridge, who would've thunk it eh? Here's a nice pic from the 60's of Alistaire Pemberton Crutchley-Hughes, the then City chairman, addressing the club's fans of the evils of allowing the U's into the FL.

Likes:
- Crewe. Don't know why really, it's always a good away day and the club itself never really gets on anyone's tits. Always look forward to going there.

Dislikes:

- How many shit pitches there are in L2 and how often games get called off, even when they've supposedly had hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of pitch work done. Newport the worst.
- Swindon Town fans.....every single time we encounter them. Just a generally horrible group of fans.
- That bloody air raid siren at Lincoln
- The lack of a decent burger van outside most grounds (applies to L1 too).
- Goal music (pretty much just applies to us only I think?) is always atrocious and I'm ashamed of it

Football message boards would be boring without 1 or 2 trolls!

Lincoln's marketing team - To keep the fans after the cup run the way they did is phenomenal and rarely happens, take out the banter about their fans only being into football for 2 years it is an incredible achievement to reel in the day trippers like they did and then build on that.

Notts County - As long as not at our expense I hope they stay up as see them as a similar club to us, Black and White, a smaller club in a small city with two clubs, neighbours in red and white... but still do fairly well support wise in the situation. Also long suffering after glory days in the 90's!

Real fans - It's shit football lets be honest but genuine fans, suffering together in the hope of the odd day of glory... far better than being a Man United fan moaning at only winning one trophy in a year... or an Arsenal fan claiming i have it harder than any other football fan as we finished forth again under Wenger.

Dislikes:

Chairman killing smaller clubs... in our situation and a few others at this level, clubs mean so much to the fans hence we put up with the shit served up every Saturday and its tragic to see many clubs at this level being treated poorly by owners. EFL could do a better job on this.

Any game against Swindon - We always lose... apart from last week of course! We've been hammered a few times, we have battered them and found Vigouroux turned into Lev Yashin, we've been 2-0 and lost 3-2... literally could sign Messi and Ronaldo and we'd still lose.

David Artell - The only coward of the 2012/13 team who bailed out when a contract issue arose for the squad, then since taking over at Crewe morphed into a shit Steve Evans with his ramblings and arrogance. Pantomime Villain with Vale fans.

What can I say about that tinpot siren up at the San Sincil? All I can think of is them Imps hate change and are still living in the past. After all, IIRC, that awful siren first reared it's ugly head some time during John Beck's reign at the Sin Siro.

Still, I'm not sure that siren is any worse than goal music. If forced to choose I think I'd rather a siren than some crappy tune blasting over the tannoy every single time the home team scores.
