Released tonight - planning permission will be sent off ASAP and work (if permission is granted, I presume it will - no reason why not) to begin after the season.

Looks pretty good I think. Same people who designed Dartford I believe but no wooden man in the middle of one of our stands - thank fuck!

Our owner actually flew over for the presentation of the plans tonight, which I was pleasantly surprised about.

He wants to get some infrastructure in place as well as just concentrating on getting a winning team. Apparently 3-3 and a half years is the time frame for completion of the whole ground.

Looks decent. Has some character to it which is good for any new build.

Are all those fans in the artist's impression provided with the new stadium?

Perhaps Chester could help them with some graffiti on it.

Or they could just build one stand to fit the population of Northfleet in and then leave the rest of the stadium.

Why have a stadium anyway? Welling cope perfectly fine without one.

I like to think Woking's stadium design is simultaneously the most ambitious yet realistic. It's as if the guy who did it drew up plans for a massive stadium with all four sides like that, and just built the one while it was all that was needed, all the while planning to build the rest when they grew in to needing them...

Well either that or they stole it from Oxford

To be fair, our crowds will improve. Not by loads, but I reckon we will be hitting 1,500 averages within two seasons which, for us, is good.

Bloke from the council has said he is impressed by the way we are going about things, which is a positive. By all accounts, the new main stand could be completed by December of this year.

Surely your main stand must be a listed building? It's as old as Grimsby's main stand!

I believe it is.

It's been around a fair few years, let's put it that way! Will feel strange at first (once all completed) but it'll grow on us all. Redevelopments are needed. Big time. With all the facilities it will have, we should get a fair bit of income too, which is good.

Of course there will be objections to the new ground, but with the planned local developments and this alongside it, there shouldn't be too many problems.

I love Dartford's ground, including the wooden man. Maybe it's because the home fans are so friendly and we've played some of our best football there and have a 100% record over our 2 visits. Sadly I don't think we'll be playing there again next season. Shame!

Don't think there's much character to it myself but each to their own mate! It's not the greatest for atmosphere.

Hopefully you can come to us instead. ;) doubt you'd bring as many down as last time mind!

Looks good but renders and the actual build often differ.

Nothing is that old, surely?
I think Ebbsfleet's main stand is a pre-WWI build, which would run it close. I believe yours is the oldest, certainly in the Premier League, Football League and Conference National divisions.

Planning permission was submitted to GBC yesterday and I believe the deadline is Friday 13th February.

When all completed it looks as though the current Ploughend will go back to terracing. Delighted with that.

The Swanscombe End (current away end, don't see much reason why that'll atop being the away end) will remain terracing and can house 1,700. Main stand (first one being done) will be seating but with an additional 200 terrace space.

Don't see why planning permission won't be granted. Never know though!

Seeing where the ground is situated I can't see why not. There's hardly any residential areas for the new stadium buildings to intrude on.

Yeah, I don't see any reason why not tbh. The council have changed their tune big time. Only wanted something to do with us when we won at Wembley. Then nothing until the takeover. Suddenly in support of everything that we do!

Should be ok. I guess we will find out soon enough!

Plans have been approved. No abstentions and no votes against - terrific news.

I'd imagine the Club will release a statement before the end of the week.

When is your owner going to start investing in the playing squad?

Owner? If you're talking about the self-made millionaire Woking fan Chris Ingram who leases us Kingfield for a £1 a year, then I don't know. Although Garry Hill did mention him in his interview after the Dover game so maybe it'll be in the summer. :woo:

My question was directed at Ebbsfleet Utd.

Nope, MyFC ended their affiliation with Ebbsfleet in the summer of 2013 I believe. They're currently owned by a Kuwaiti investment group.
