Were anyone's teams on here in action today?

Reigning champions Hornchurch are out after a penalty loss at Wingate & Finchley.

For once, Yaxley are going on a cup run (well, relatively speaking by our low standards), having pulled off an upset to beat higher-level Lowestoft Town 2-3 in a very topsy-turvy contest.

When they scored after ten minutes, I thought we were gonna get thrashed, but we gradually grew into the game and scored two in the first ten minutes of the second half. Then we had a man sent off in the last ten minutes and conceded an equaliser, only to go straight up the other end to reclaim our lead and hold out for the win.

When do the bigger sides come into this? Would be nice to get a run far enough to get one of the ex-Football League teams, but I imagine it's gonna be very tricky to get far enough. I'm just hoping we don't get Peterborough Sports in Monday's 1st Round draw, as that would be such a boring.

Quite a ways to go then! Little prospect of a Step 4 side getting a game against one of the big National League sides. Well, maybe we can get one round further and get York in the 2nd Round when presumably the North and South clubs come into the draw.

I’m struggling to contain my excitement at being back in this competition.

My eldest son's birthday. He's looking forward to it, I'm really not. I'd hope we just send out a youth side whoever we get. Be nice for a random trip to a Walton Causals or a Cray Wanderers. Be even better if Truro could make the 3rd round and we draw them away for a birthday weekend down in Cornwall.

Personally, I am hopeful of a decent Trophy run for Alfreton after we totally botched the FA Cup. We are turning in to a useful outfit. Lets hope for a decent draw.

Truro currently play at Plymouth Parkways ground. Which isn’t in Cornwall.

There's only 2 decent scenarios when it comes to the FA trophy. We either go out at the first hurdle, or we win the whole thing having fielded the kids in every game.

The draw for the 1st Round.

Once again, we're on the road and we're heading to fellow Step 4 side Canvey Island, so a fair chance of progressing once more. That said, they are top of their league so it's going to be a tricky one again; I'm probably less confident about this than I was about the possibility of us beating Lowestoft.

Didn't realise they were playing over there, not in Cornwall but very close! I'll still be keeping my fingers crossed they make it through.

Our run came to an end yesterday as we got tonked 6-0 by Canvey Island. We had a lot of players missing, but were still very poor all the same. Ah well, it was a decent cup run and now we can focus on the league and trying to stay up.

Second Round this weekend then

Atrocious weather forecast
Nothing against Leamington whatsoever who are a friendly club. But an away tie to a fellow NLN side doesnt get the juices flowing.
Regardless we at Alfreton need a win and the prize money. Something tells me we wont be getting it though.

Just want a home time next round (or a draw at Roth in the FA cup) otherwise no home game until Boxing day for us.
