Last season the SPFL title race was demonstrably closer than the EPL title race (by quite a bit) - a mathematical fact even you will be able to grasp.

Yeah pretty much, Celtic will never win another CL title. Neither will Ajax, Benfica or Steaua Bucharest. Additionally, other nations have caught up - in 1967 Germany didn't even have a national league and Belgian football (for example) was pretty much amateur.

Despite this, Scottish attendances are still incredibly resilient and proportionally the highest in Europe (far ahead of, say, England). Clearly those that remain aren't glory hunting fools.
