Hard to tell from the camera angle but i felt it wasn't necessary for Maher to dive in, the risk-reward just wasn't in his favour and he's given the ref the opportunity to be a fücking hero. Frustrating as fúck if it's a clean tackle though
It was for handball.

Well we finally won again. If I had travelled from Walsall I would have been raging. They are well and truly on the beach and not interested.
Also in Al Hamadi we now if fit have 2 decent strikers we actually own. Add one or two more in summer and we will be good for goals next season.

Al Hamadi looks like a cracking bit of business.

Paul Hurst cost Grimsby 2 pts, Substitutions were woeful.
Manager to blame, Pity Win that and they had an outside
Chance of the playoffs.
That was our 9th match of the month mate, he was always going to be making a lot of subs. Disappointed we couldn't do the business for you, but unfortunately for you Paul Hurst's priority is keeping our lot fresh and seeing who is worth keeping next season not keeping Hartlepool in the Football League. We had to win 9 or 10 out of our last 12 to probably be in with a sniff of the playoffs, was never really an outside chance. More something that's bordering on nigh on impossible when you consider we've struggled to string back to back wins together for most of the season. The game should have been dead and buried before the subs came on anyway. And it was a dodgy pen by the sounds of it. At least we didn't lose.

Seems pre-ordained now doesn’t it - we put in an abject performance on Good Friday but beat Hartlepool with a dodgy penalty

Down to us to stay in the EFL nobody else to blame but ourselves.
Just thought Green & Holohan would have got yous over the line and 3 pts.

Amazing to think we got him on a free. Since then not far off a goal a game. Hope he does that next season as well.
