Expecting a tonking at Rotherham, we have such a small squad, players carrying injuries, no strikers and because of the Covid issues we have fitness problems

Some interesting games there - Sunderland v Wycombe, Oxford v Lincoln, Morecambe v Wednesday.

This looks like the toughest one we've faced so far at Wigan. Whatmough and Naylor will have a point to prove after being released at the end of last season. Charlie Wyke will no doubt test out our unbeaten defence. The second game in a sequence of six away games and one at home.

The good thing is that the Cowleys will have had a full week to work on nothing but tactics.

Not expecting much from our trip to Burton.

Annoyingly, I won't be able to watch us on Sky as I'll be on a family camping trip.

We now are missing, Okenhibirie, Taylor, Hiwula and Anderson.
Doubtful are Bostock, Galbraith, Ro-Shaun and John, meaning all our strikers and centre half’s are either out or carrying injuries, you just couldn’t make it up. Both Bogle and Williams have turned down moves even though it’s been made clear they are not wanted (thanks DM) so the funds that would have freed to fetch 3 more in are now not available. I can’t see anything but a 5+ battering at Rotherham

We also have major injuries and possible covid problems in the squad. No idea who will play but with Oxford and Rotherham and having to play Bradford in the tinpot between both, it’s going to be a real tough ask.

You can have Marquis, Ellis Harrison and Callum Johnson if you want

I’d take the first 2, Marquis was outstanding for us, just a shame he burnt his bridges with us when he left.

I can’t describe how shit we are. I’m already contemplating on not going Saturday and we’re only in August. Football’s depressing right now.

No chance on that scoreline at all, you’d get great odds on it though

I know a lot of clubs are similar positions at the moment, but we currently have 13 fit senior players of which two are goalkeepers.
Even our two decent kids have Covid!
We do not have a fit striker unless Oliver recovers in time and we do not have a left back (although it can be argued we don’t have a left back even if Tutonda is fit).
I can see nothing but a defeat sadly.

Bolton at home and a game I’m looking forward to, they’ve been given the south habbin so expecting quite a few to be traveling down.

we've still got players carrying knocks and coming back to fitness so hoping we’ll get a decent first 11 out there and make it competitive.
Not sure what lineup bonner will put out as he mixed it up against burton which was good to see, but if I was to choose then I think we’ll go back to having iron joe up top alone and let Bolton have the ball and we’ll try and counter, much like the Oxford game.

Sounds like the perfect time to play you! We’re not much better off. We’ve had two GK’s & two youth players on the bench whilst only naming 6 out of 7 subs in the majority of games so far.

It’s frustrating being a Town fan at the minute, we’ve got the funds to spend but we keep getting either our bids rejected by the clubs, or we’re getting rejected by players in favour of them moving elsewhere. Transfer window shuts on Tuesday and we’re up the creak without a paddle.

We’ve played 4 games, 0 goals, 0 points, 5 shots on target combined. It’s beyond embarrassing! I can’t see where our first goal is coming from let alone point(s). I still reckon you lads will come here and do a smash and grab, trust me, this is our 7th consecutive season in League 1 and this is the worst state I’ve known the club to be in regarding squad & depth come late August.

Enjoy your 3 points Gills

Long trip to the South coast for the Plymouth game. We had played better in the games we have lost so far this season, than last Saturday's victory over Cheltenham. The topsy turvy nature of football eh. Brad Halliday who was signed in the summer is now expected to be out for the remainder of the season with ACL, its a tough one for the lad and can only wish him well. I think the best we can expect from this game is a draw, which will be an improvement on last season's game 1-1

13 fit players apparently, the starting XI won't take too much selecting.

EDIT - 13 outfield players, so at least we might be able to half fill the bench.

The last year for injuries has been an absolute nightmare and to the point where the club really need to be looking at it, whilst there's been lots of mitigating factors, there must be areas to improve.

Bolton sold 1200 of their 1900 allocation. I thought they were a MASSIVE club.

Playing 61 games last season with a very small squad and playing pretty much Saturday Tuesday since xmas has certainly taken it's toll on us, 8 games this month, crackers!

Club should have just given them the south stand in that case so we could have the south habbin again.

Ben Tozer not in the Cheltenham squad tonight. Is he injured or off to Wrexham?

Edit - just seen a deal is done 200k.

Should be a good game against Fleetwood tomorrow. Whilst they have a couple of good players, Jordan Rossiter and Callum Camps for example, they do look weaker on paper this year than usual.

We’re still without James Wilson due to late suspension after the Cambridge game, as well as Danny Mayor, Niall Ennis and James Bolton. George Cooper is back on the bench but nowhere near match fit.

I’ll go for a 1-0 win. Broom to score.
