Well, a nice bunch of local games there:

Barnsley v Rotherham
Posh v Cambridge
Stockport v Bolton

As for us, we have a second away trip to the North West in the space of a week. Like Edgeley Park (up until tonight) we’ve never won away at Wigan, so it would be quite something to break two curses in one week.

We’ll see though, Wigan may be floundering somewhat right now, but best not to write them off.

The big one.

I know we're bang in form with 4 wins and 4 clean sheets in a row, but I am bricking this nonetheless. Especially after last year....

Charlton at home. Need to bounce back after two league defeats in a row. We are level with them in the table, but I'm sure they are looking higher.
Leaked a few goals since getting all the praise at Shrewsbury, Yfeko is out so have to make do with Purrington again probably.
Hopefully Mitchell can start a game, which should give Charlton problems.
Looking to win this, 2-1

We generally struggle at Wrexham, last season in particular summed it up with three players off injured in 20 minutes, then ironically a mistake from Brunt to gift a goal. Referee then topped it off giving a penalty from a foul clearly outside the box.

Hopefully we get a bit of luck on our side Saturday, thankfully I’m away so just flash scores for me.

Great nutmeg from Brunt for us to get the first, but even without the pen (clearly outside the box) we weren't troubled.

I fear that this time round we'll slip up this time, though.

We are pretty pants (in general) but especially away from home. Leaburn is back in the side and has a few goals in the cup competitions. Again, our weakness is creativity, we play two pressing midfielders in attacking midfield but neither have any attacking ability if they do win the ball on the press. Tyreece Campbell is our main threat but he is a winger and we don't play with wingers.

With Lloyd Jones and Kayne Ramsay out for a while our defence is looking leaky.

I can't see us winning this.

I think had he had the ball on the deserved red to mcclean early on it would’ve changed it clearly, sadly he bottled a relatively easy job, odd how he didn’t see that but could see a penalty outside the area or disallow a fair goal when the keeper didn’t have control of the ball  - that said it was last season and we both got what we wanted with promotion.

If we get a fair shot at things we will create chances, but given the massive gulf in resources at both clubs in reality a point would be a great achievement.

Wrexham away at half 12 isn’t appealing - sold my ticket as going away for the weekend instead.

Excuses coming in left, right and centre already from the Mansfield lads and it's only Wednesday morning.

The first of four long away days - Bristol, Exeter, Wrexham (midweek) and Crawley (FA Cup).

We'll be without Walker, Street, Duffy, Hamer, Jackson, Erhahon and Bayliss - the latter three being starters. We only have four fit defenders in the squad as well, one of which is Montsma who's still working his way back so we're one more injury away from square pegs in round holes.

Rovers are pretty respectable at home with 4 wins in 6 but both teams don't score or concede many home or away respectively (8/8 for Rovers, 8/7 for Lincoln) so I can't see this one being a high scoring game.

We were able to rest and rotate a bit on Monday night so Hamilton, Jefferies, Montsma, House and Cadamarteri will probably come back in.

I’m surprised the bookies have you at 7/10, i’d have had 1/3 or 1/4 tbh.

I’ll be honest I find your injury list hard to sympathise with, we’ve gone through extended periods with two strikers and a midfielder in a back four.

So much so I think we’ve actually got to call Jordan Bowery a defender now, think he’s played upfront about 3 times in past two years.

Stockport away..........Nightmare result for them, but this league is not good and just like us after the Huddersfield fiasco they could go and win their next 4 games.
Still playing Evatt 5/2/3 formation and still without 8 players injured.
Could win 4-0 or could lose 4-0

Maybe save that nonsense for a season where you stand a chance of getting promoted. #bangaverage
Birmingham are stand out........Rest mediocre
We are limping with half our squad injured and a system nobody else plays
Do you honestly think we have no chance of being promoted
Aye ok

Away Wrexham is a different animal to home Wrexham. I fancy anyone at home as we are that good at getting results. Away from home, we're shite.

I don't think anyone's looking for sympathy, not me anyway, it was just team news ahead of the game - nothing more, nothing less!

I wasn’t suggesting that you were, just that it’s not that bad of an injury list!

Yeah you are very good at home, to be fair I think we are better away, already been to Wigan, Barnsley, Northampton, Crawley and won, only away loss is Lincoln, so I’m sure Clough and the players will be fairly confident getting something out the game.

Charlton @ home.

At least Alfie May isn’t gonna score against us this weekend.
Can see it being a humdinger. Probably gonna finish 4-4 or something similar, just to raise my blood pressure, again.

Is there much improvement from last season? Remember you lot were doing ok away from home and we absolutely nullified you.

Be a good test for both teams.

It was one of those days where everything went wrong, and you created nothing up till the Brunt mistake, and then nothing again until the wrongly given penalty.

It was a very tight game, 7 shots for Wrexham, 10 for Mansfield - like I said ultimately decided by a mistake from one our players and the referee, although you must give credit for taking those chances.

And again, he missed the blatant red after 5 mins on hewitt from mcclean, given a fair chance we’ve the potential to get it, but i think wrexham might just be too good on the day.

You get those, got 1 point from the 2 against wrexham but all 6 against the best team in the league last year.

Nullified them 3 times last season, all with different types of performance tactically.

Clough with a big point to prove Saturday that's for sure, needs to show he's got what it takes up against Parky.

Parky will not be happy you just calling him Clough, it’s Big Nige to you, show the bloke the same respect he gets from your gaffer.

Interesting that in the 13 games he’s managed against phil parkinson you’d of course be unsurprised to find cloughie wins out, winning 7 drawing 3 and losing 3.

This is only our third 3pm Saturday home kick off this season - Its also our last until January 4th after our home game with Mansfield in 2 weeks was called off today.

Has to be a first - Only three 3pm home kick offs for a club in the first half of a season, needless to say alot of our fans are pissed off about this.

Phil 'Parky' Parkinson v Brian 'Cloughie' Clough, a battle from the jurassic era.

Whichever manager loses puts themselves under IMMENSE pressure.

Lincoln will be a very interesting game. A good squad who’ve been consistently knocking on the play off doors for a few years.

We’ve really struggled here and there this season. It feels like we’re slowly starting to gel, but it is very very slow. This will be a good test to see how we’ve improved.
