Rovers go into this match as favourites following our magnificent mauling of Wycombe and York's recent capitulations against Pompey and Accy. However we have an awful habit of not kicking a team when they're down ( see Newport ) and we are incredibly inconsistent. Despite this I can't really see anything other than a Gas win. 3-1 with Taylor (2) and sincs with our goals.

Christ knows what's going to happen in this but it surely can't be worse than the last couple of games. I'll be there making a long weekend of it with our lass, I've never been to Bristol so I'm looking forward the trip...less so the match.

With our form of seemingly following up a good result which pushes us up to playoff contention with a disappointing unsuspected loss, we'll probably go and lose this one.

However, if we are serious about really mounting a playoff challenge, without disrespecting York, this is the type of game on paper we have to win.

Like Miagsy says, this is the sort of game we've lost on previous occasions this season. We need to rid ourselves of the inconsistency that has prevented us from reaching the top 7 thus far and put in the sort of performance we are capable of.

Without wanting to sound disrespectful to York, we have beaten much better sides than them this year and we should have more than enough about us to claim 3 points. We'll need to be careful though because no side ever makes it easy.

This is exactly the type of game we tend to lose.

3 of our last 5 home games tell the story:
Rovers 1-4 Newport (Newport came to the Mem bottom of the table and thrashed us 4-1)
Rovers 0-1 Chesham (Failed to score and got knocked out the cup by a side 3 divisons below us)
Rovers 1-2 Stevenage (Stevenage were the only side in England without a league win until they came to the Mem)


The matches we would probably be expected to win are normally the ones we'd lose and despite winning our last match we'd still be 20th if the table was based on home form.

Not sure what to expect from York. They've got a new manager and practically a whole new side. The short break came at the perfect time for them to work with the new players and help them bed in.

As usual the first goal will be important because we rarely come from behind to win.

Based on what I've seen this season anyone can beat anyone in league 2 so I'm not expecting an easy game. I'd be delighted with any sort of win and am hoping we can win successive home games for the first time this season.

Obviously York is my football team but Bristol fans. Do you know who your playing?!? A team who has conseeded 13 goals in 3 games. And defensively has been an absolute shambles for many games now.

New team, 2 weeks to prepare, like others have said anything could happen! But I'm not convinced. I will gladly take a draw from today's game to get York out of our losing streak. I expect Bristol rovers to certainly score so our players will have to dig deep.

Think I've frightened most of my colleagues with a very loud victory shout and a impromptu skinhead moonstomp when the winner went in . Such an important win for us, I think I'm more satisfied with this win than the one against Wycombe. We've got to be considered as playoff contenders now.
