I have started this extremely thread as a place to share good reads pertaining to news and current affairs.

Folks, I'm talking about journalism.

This is not a discussion thread. Do not discuss things in my thread. There are other threads for discussions.

Here's a good read: 4chan: The Skeleton Key to the Rise of Trump

Please post some good reads you've read and I'll add them to my Pocket.

I will soon be enjoying - again - The Tale of Mrs Tiggywinkle when grandson number 1 pops out in a couple of weeks.

The initial article is giving a bit too much credit to a bunch of self-loathing nerds to the rise of Trump. The author doesn't really help himself by consistently drawing attention to the mental state of these people, a lot of conjecture and reductive conclusions. Correlation =/= causation and all that. Nice writing style though.

Are we allowed to talk about books? If so, I would recommend The Muslims Are Coming by Arun Kundnani as a way of understanding much of contemporary politics.

If we were allowed to recommend books, I would recommend Ian disabuse himself of some his sillier notions by reading The Significance of Borders by Thierry Baudet. Alas, this is Smat’s thread and his wishes must be respected.

I have decided to relax the rules of this thread and permit (some) discussion.
