Car sharing should be fine providing it's with the same people each time and the same people training together. If you can work closely with them you can travel to work with them!

Though knowing the club it probably isn't either of those things.
I assume the EFL protocols are no car sharing at all unless said players live together i.e. loan players sharing a house. If it's 'car share' from Sheffield with three players who all live separately with families then I can't imagine that being allowed.

Close contact is defined as 15 minutes, isn't it? Spending longer sat in a car together is presumably worse therefore than brushing past each other briefly whilst playing football outside in the fresh air etc, particularly if they're then meant to be getting changed at home and so on.

A close contact is a close contact by whatever means stay in bubble and contacts will not change.

Here in Cyprus rules have been far more stricter than the UK including having to text for permission to leave home during lockdown and car sharing is fine providing it's same people in the bubble.

I'm not talking about bubbles, I'm talking about having close contact with somebody as opposed to someone who is a close contact. If you walk past somebody in the supermarket, that isn't 'close contact'. If you sit in a car with somebody for twenty minutes, that is.

Besides, footballers aren't in 'bubbles', anyway. They'd have to living together at the training ground for that to be realistic.

Or as David Moyes put it on TV the other night: "the players have to go home to their wives and kids after spending the day exposing themselves."

I hear that players are now being told not to overdo goal celebrations so at least that’s one thing we shouldn’t get in trouble over for rule breaking as we don’t ever score any goals to celebrate.

I'm not talking about contact with random strangers for 5 seconds either.

These players are training together 5,6 days a week for several hours, training drills, 5 a side, sharing coaches to away games and even eating lunch etc. As soon as one is positive everyone else in that training bubble should be classed as a close contact in my opinion.

Car sharing or not they should still be a close contact. Only thing not car sharing does is reduce the risk of catching it if the other has it, not reduce the risk of being a close contact when working together everyday.

Based on the protocols that clubs are supposed to be following, the players should be arriving to training in their kit and going home in their kit. Plenty of the training itself (passing drills, fitness work, shape etc) would be relatively distanced, the amount of genuinely close, face-to-face contact when playing is actually pretty minimal (as I've just observed watching the first half of the Tottenham game) - and those contacts beingoutside are already 'safer' anyway. Inside, they're meant to be using the facilities staggered so as to have enough space and so on which would cover things like eating, using different rooms which is why teams have been emerging from random parts of the ground instead of the tunnel.

If transmission is that much harder outside, I would argue that the vast majority of contact during a game of football is pretty insignificant. Sitting inside a car together for half an hour or so, though, is quite clearly different to playing in the fresh air.

Pretty much yes, allowed two essential trips a day, one of the reasons is shopping. You text and receive an automated reply back if within your two trips. If stopped by police you have to show the reply to prove its one of your two essential trips.

We have also been wearing masks indoors and outdoors except for excercise for around 5, 6 months now.

Things have been much tighter rules wide here than UK

See if we get fined too now... We've been saying all season that players have been training in groups, presumably it's not doing this that led to Grimsby's fine but the inquiry will presumably find this out.

"What that room? Ohno we don't need to go in there, that's just the darts and sauna room."

where are you getting this from?

I wasn’t aware of any rules that say squads have to train in separate groups and I certainly haven’t seen any evidence of us training in groups all season.

Sure Chris Beech mentioned it right at the start of the season.
That was phased training at the very start of preseason. Then they all got tested and then could proceed to full training with the whole group. Every time I’ve seen footage or pics of training it’s been the whole squad, not little groups.

The only reason we’ve been training in Small groups recently is because the training ground is fucked and cos of lockdown we can’t borrow anyone else’s 4G full pitches so can only fit a number of players in the Neil centre at a time.

Would you be willing to spend this three games off we now have travelling the country giving pep talks to the likes of Newport, FGR and Cambridge? That could really help us.

This was the EFL return to training protocol document sent to clubs
Training Protocols

The FAQ says there is no limit to the number of people training together but should start in small clusters such as 2-3 before eventually working up to 11v11.

However there is plenty in there on the risks, such as how many people per area, how long each drill should last, whether it is high intensity (High Heart rate) etc. and what they need to do for assessing each drill for risks of contact etc.

Guess EFL is investigating all instances of postponements and will deal with each separately based on whether rules were followed etc.

In our case, we obviously didin't, with car sharing, no risk assessment on opening kitchen, players congregating playing darts, and isolating the whole squad when in reality we could have just isolated 2 or 3 players.

I’d be more than happy to do that
