What Pagnell saidwtf you on about?
I want van Gaal to go but the reason he didn't buy as many players was because he had faith that the youth players were good enough to step up if called upon. Still should've kept Nani and Rafael.Saying that Utd didn't buy players last summer to cover any potential injuries and have got rather fortunate that Rashford and Fosuh Monster have looked capable players.

We'll finish above Liverpool again next season, van Gaal or no van Gaal.
Van Gaal in his second season barely managed to finish above Klopp without the German having a full campaign and a summer transfer window. I doubt even you believe he will do it next season when both those handicaps don't apply.I want van Gaal to go but the reason he didn't buy as many players was because he had faith that the youth players were good enough to step up if called upon. I'm not disputing that he's made big mistakes, but you said he's been "fortunate that Rashford and Fosuh Monster have looked capable players" when there's nothing really fortunate about it, since he first came here he's made it clear that he's been impressed with the standard of the youth players, and it was his plan all along to use players from the youth setup to fill in for injured players and the likes of Fosu Mensah, Rashford and Cameron Bothwick Jackson have done well when called upon. One of his few positives is his willingness to give youth a chance. You think he had more faith in Rashford than in Hernandez then? Really?
I think he got things wrong with the players he had. Expected more from Depay, he's gone right off of Darmian. You never got in a CB like you needed as well as other areas.
And if he has gone into this season with his faith in youth then surely his faith has been greatly misplaced. There is only one youth player that he's played this season who he went into the season with that has worked out and that is Rashford. And that's come about by fluke more than design.
I'm not giving him Lingard cos he's 23.
That's not to slate the young players that have had to come into the side at times, they're just not ready. Some may not be good enough, others might but it's obviously been too early for them so like I say his faith has been misplaced hasn't it? For me, I don't think that's it at all. I think he's just been very poor in the transfer market and underestimated the level of opposition. Which is forgivable in your first season, not in your second.
You don't need to enter the thread since you have no allegiances to either club.Just waiting for this thread to end up with 40 odd pages of Liverpool and Manchester United fans bickering like fuck
