As per last year, the FA Membership Committee have given their recommendation to the FA Council ahead of next month's decision on our playing name and, as per last year, they've recommended we remain Hull City. This doesn't guarantee a decision in our favour, but it's as best an indicator as we can be given.

I'm sure our owners - the self-proclaimed "men of their word" - will continue to honour their original promise to only ever make one name change application by making sure a third will be lodged by next April.

I don't know too much about Hull to be honest, but wouldn't you be bankrupt if it wasn't for Allem's money?

It seems similar with the Cardiff Red Dragons (red shirts maybe) to be honest, would you sell the soul of the identity of the club for some success? I feel Man City have gone down that path too.

Agree with what Mark said. I know, he makes some bad decisions sometimes, but think: where would you be without him? Then, you may either start to appreciate him more, or hate him more. It depends on the situation at the club, which i don't know much about because i don't know much about Hull as a football club. But ask yourself that question, and tell me the answer. I'm genuinely interested.

So because he allegedly "saved the club" he's allowed a free reign to do what the fuck he likes and rip up the heart and soul of a football club with over 100 years of history? And all in the name of what, to improve Hull's image in Asia? Which is obviously nonsense anyway.

Lansdown has done loads for us but if he wanted to change our name to Bristol Sport I hope many would be against it.

His money saved the club, yes. However, it also sees us in a pretty dire financial position. The last set of accounts stated we owed the Allam family around £70mil, and we've spent another £40mil+ since then. The debt remains full as we are currently only paying off the interest of 5% every year.

As for the name change, there is no evidence it will be of any benefit to us, despite claims that it would garner an additional £10mil a year in sponsorship. This whole issues stems from a spat with Hull City Council. He doesn't want our club's name to bear any similarity to theirs, hence the change. The official line is that the new name would be shorter and snappier like other brands. What they don't seem to understand is that 'Hull City' has LESS letters than 'Hull Tigers'. He's also claimed that, if he were the owner of Man City, he'd want to change their name to Manchester Hunter.

They appealed last year's verdict on the name change on the grounds that the fans opinions were given too much thought. According to their official letters (via solicitor), they feel the fans are irrelevant and their views ignored. He's also branded a large percentage of the support 'hooligans' and told us we can 'die when we want'.

Beyond this, he suffered greatly in the community for evicting all the local sports clubs from a council-owned property on the stadium site so that he could build a 3G pitch for the academy. These clubs were given very short notice, which disrupted their respective leagues and fixtures had to be cancelled or relocated. They claimed they would give those clubs a reprieve and instead build a bubble pitch outside, but they gave the local council only TWO DAYS to pass planning permission (which, legally, is impossible).

Allem is an absolute balloon, a couple of mates of mine live out in Hull (poor fuckers) and say it's just one mess after another with him and he's acting like a spoilt brat.

Whilst they have parachute payments all should be 'good' in the short term but branding fans 'hooligans' and getting them offside could see a return to the dark days of the mid/late 90s when the club were in dire straits.
