Given the news that a guest has recently taken his own life after failing a 'lie detector' test is it time for The Jeremy Kyle show to be scrapped?

Personally I think it's the modern equivalent of bear baiting and Kyle is a scumbag goblin.

Hopefully it's done. It's just a shame one of their exploited "guests" took their own life before it happened.

The perverse audience it attracts are just as bad as the c*** that hosts it and the people who produce it.

It is an absolutely horrid show and draws the lowest form of participant and viewer. And this is an awful incident, I can’t even dream to imagine the mental state which goes into taking your own life.

But let’s put this incident in context, the show has been on since 2005 and there have been over 3,000 episodes containing over 10,000 participants. Each participant knows what the show is about, it’s their choice to go on. This is the first such incident, do you ban a show because of a 1 in 10,000 event when there’s been no such issues for 14 years previously?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awful show made in terrible taste and exploits it’s participants. It should be taken off air because it’s shite, not because of this one incident. It’s a knee jerk reaction in my opinion.

No, and that’s why ITV haven’t cancelled their big money spinner after two former contestants committed suicide.

I don’t have sympathy for the people that go on, most of them love it and play up to the cameras, up to them if they want to go and mug themselves off.

Whilst the show is shit, there has been numerous moving stories on there where the show has helped to reunite families and get people help for drug/booze addictions etc. Maybe the show should have had a bit of a re-jig and focused more on that kind of thing.

Kyle is utter scum, the show was an abomination, attracted utter pond life and was just an utter embarrassment all round. Bollocks to it doing good it was purely made for people to point at laugh at council estate chavs on benefits having a ruck whilst Kyle hid behind security. Good fucking riddance.
