No idea why our game is a 7:15 KO. If anything, its going to reduce the attendance even more, as many people seem to struggle to get there for 7:45 on a Tuesday night travelling from work.

he must play a full strength team to try and ignite a so far pathetic start to the season, this shouldn't be seen as a distraction to the league....start winning for fuck's sake.

Why the 7:00 kick-off?
A ) not maNY are intersted and B) gives a chance to take young uns to a game without the late night problem .... I think it saves on the leccy bill also .... in fairness it has worked we were dipping to around 1000 before , now I think it's 1900 - 2200 most games , mind you itss normally Sheffield U we play ... wait till we draw Accrington before we add things up

Yeovil away.

Cant expect many will travel at all. Maybe 50:dk: A lot more will go in the league. I will make the trip for the league game but not for this.

A lot more will go to carlisle on Saturday and give this a miss (me included) I dont mind if we go out to be honest.:ds:

We will make changes, I would expect Scott Kashkett & Ollie Palmer to start ahead of Jay Simpson and Paul McCallum.

Our #1 keeper Alex Cisak is away with Australia so our younger backup keeper Charlie Grainger will make his debut, Mathieu Baudry is injured so Alan Dunne will have to come in. Maybe our new loan signing Joe Maguire will come in as well for some game time.

We can afford to make changes, I really don't care if we win. The early KO for me is always handy for getting home earlier.

I think we'll make a few changes, as Curle likes giving the fringe players some gametime in cup games, but he'll also rest some key players.
I'd certainly rest Jabo, and probably 2 or 3 others.

I want to progress, as I personally like the JPT because it's a good chance to see your side at Wembley with a shot at glory. However, Port Vale fans on here reckon they've started the season very well, playing some great football, so I think it'll be a tough game.

Yeovil away, not bothered either way with how this game ends up.

Would be good to see some of our talented youngsters blooded - Taylor, Gater, Shomotun, Stevens and Gondoh will all hopefully play a part, amongst others.

Jamie Stephens should start in goal, he's looking like a very good signing for us.

Saving my money for Carlisle away, I'll pay anything to see the Jabo Ibhere Show on Saturday.:bdick:

After the thrill of a bye last season, we're back in the 1st round again this year. Not too fussed should we win or lose, suppose it'll be a decent test against one of the better sides in the division even if we're both going to make 3+ changes to our sides.

Didn't realise it was this Tuesday. Would have been my first live game of the season but I'm seeing mates instead. Few games I'm interested in this round.

I've still only ever been to one JPT game (lost 1-3 at home to the Sheds, got into an argument with our skipper). Just hope Kashket, Palmer and some of the youth team get a run-out.

By any chance was that skipper Mackie, and was that when Mackie started having a go at the west side?

I once went to Notts County away in the JPT... Never again.

Yes indeed. I may have upset him slightly by pointing out his abject deficiencies in that match. Wonderful captain, wonderful promotion campaign, but boy was he inadequate in League One without Zakuani to save his bacon. Good standard "speccy salute" in my direction, if I remember rightly.

The weird LL fan in me is actually alot more disappointed i cannot get to this Port Vale JPT game than the Liverpool one, I had a great 12 odd year record of attending every JPT game we had until i stopped going last season......tsssk.

anyway we have goals to try and achieve now that them b*stards at Bristol City have again nicked our 'best JPT team ever' Title, need to now get to yet another final.

Hope we don't rest Green. After his brace at the weekend we could do with him carrying it on and finding some form.

I'll be disappointed if we seem to push this aside and play all the young kids as I'd actually like us to have a run in it.

Unsure as to how i think we should play this, on the one hand its a meaningless game in a cup that no one really cares about until they get to the area final, on the other i think we could do with having a settled starting 11 and letting the players, who didn't do too badly against Pompey, find some more form together.

I think JS will change it,though and we will see the a lot of the players who havent featured so far like Lawless and Gutts and those currently on the bench like Pelly etc.

715 is a bit annoying for me as i wont be able to attend now, does it still go straight to penalties if its a draw after 90?

Yeah straight to penalties skipping extra time. Annoyingly in last season's fixture we were dominating Tranmere at their place and then the final whistle went and it's straight into the lottery. Prefer extra time myself but I suppose it's just the JPT being self aware about how tinpot it is and not wanting to injure or fatigue players too much.

At least it doesn't involve replays that take precedent over your league fixtures and also played on a Saturday like the FA Trophy!!

The Chairman said he wanted us to have a go in this poopy cup this season but that was before our abysmal start to the league season.
Personally I hope no one can be bothered and Moniz is too busy sorting out a central defender or two before the 6pm deadlne.

According to the FA suspension list it will be his final match suspension against Mansfield, which in all honesty is a good thing for us.
