Although I don't come on very often nowadays I've noticed that G Dragon gets subjected to a fair bit of stick, which he probably deserves. However, this thread is about Klopp and he merely typed a post how nice it was that when Lucas asked him if he could wear a black armband Klopp said they all would. What's wrong with that? It's a thread about Klopp. Don't think it warranted the (kneejerk?) opprobrium it got to be fair.
I always wondered what G Dragon's dad would think if he saw what was going on on here. It's good to know you care.

Klopp on Gary Neville: "He showed as manager that he struggled to judge players. Why do we let them talk about players on TV?."
"By the way you can tell him I’m not on Twitter. So if he wants to tell me something Twitter doesn’t help."

If this was anyone else, it'd be deemed cringeworthy and desperate to be honest. When it comes to Klopp, let's hope it's just a one off (the dig at the dutch fella was funny). I don't like it though, it's a petty thing to bring up; both Neville's managerial record and the odd twitter thing.

Very Mourinho like comments from Klopp.

Media are equally transfixed on the Liverpool manager as well. Watching Liverpool on the box can be annoying as the camera swings round to Klopp making yet another face.

That was my first thought as well. Mourinho does it quite systematically* though, whereas with Klopp it's hopefully a one off. Maybe thespus can fill us in; did he have a similar record in Germany?

* no pun intended

He's an unabashedly emotional person, so there will inevitably times where his frustrations are visible. I don't remember a specific interaction like this Neville tiff, but that is from around a minute of consideration.

That's my take on it as well, but what bothers me is the power balance. Klopp is, right or wrong, one of the most admired football managers in the world right now; Neville is a failed manager and a pundit. It's a kick downwards to say the least.

Very much out of character behavior by the normally cordial Klopp, I'm surprised this has got under his skin. Maybe he's starting to feel the pressure? It's been awhile since he won a league title afterall.

I think he was basically trying to protect his player, and by going so strongly on the Nevilles, switch the attention onto himself.

They do that with everyone, the other day every time Leicester scored, the camera's didn't go to Ranieri, but they fixed on Pep drinking out his water bottle.

Considering Liverpool are ahead of plan I doubt that.

Exactly my thoughts. That's what he did at Dortmund, too. Protecting his players.
Of course he also overreacted sometimes but then he had no problems to say that he was wrong. He's an emotional coach not a roboter or sycophant like some....

To be better than Manchester United despite spending hundreds of millions less. *

* may or may not be the actual plan.

Yep: a Mourinho trick. Unbecoming but potentially effective.

Funnily English media's darling John Stones is almost immune to criticism. He has been very poor for City for a number of games now. They always seem to blame Bravo or one of his CB partners.

Has Neville or Carra criticized Stones for his performance yet?

Dunno how anyone can interpret Klopp to be 'losing it' with what he said. If anything it just asserted himself as a total boss. A subtle "if you attack my players I will ridicule your footballing merit for the world to laugh at" is only going to benefit LFC. The no twitter thing was boss too, if G Nev wants a chat then it has to be within striking distance :box:

Klopp is a great manager and a genuine person.... don't understand why he's managing Liverpool though.

Nice to see Liverpool fans can use the Screenshot feature and MS paint.

Next time use the Rectangle tool for more accurate framing Pags.
