Whether you've spent money or not has no bearing on whether interest is applicable on the loan or why it's charged.

4% is actually a very good rate, some of the rates around football are ridiculous (only today it's been said that the Company who have lent Derby money are borrowing the money themselves at 9% pa).

we paid 10% interest to a owner in the past.....you can charge what you like but it does not mean you will see it returned.
you cannot buy a company in Administration with your own money then say it was a loan and charge interest on it

They have paid 26m for the club that cannot then be charged against the club.
Future monies yes i can see that they could loan the club money,but the club is financially stable at the moment

Looked at said documents in the past, briefly skimmed back over them to catch up.
Football Ventures bought the club for 26m in August 2019.
These sort of people dont have 26m in there post office savings book.
So they have to go to Banks/venture capitalists for the cash.
They agreed the 4% interest and agreed that all Monies would be paid by August 22
Obviously the club will not have a spare 40m in the hotels tills
All monies owed up to now have been paid
They just move investments around,tax breaks etc and cash that comes in is transferred to pay the loan.

Nothing hidden, they have taken a punt pre virus and know if they get to the championship they will make a profit...If they get to the premiership happy days

Exactly. ‘The cash that comes in is transferred to pay the loan’. So, pray, what cash is coming in at the moment or for the last 9 months. This is why clubs go bust. What do you think the owners have put up as guarantees for their loans? It won’t be their personal assets - nobody, but nobody does that. They have borrowed against the club’s assets.

Sorry to interrupt a very interesting debate with news of a transfer, but we have signed Ethan Laird from Man Utd on loan until end of the season. A 19 yr old attacking wing back, he's named on the bench for the FA Cup squad today.

Seriously though, I had doubts that he’d make it in the Championship due to his lack of pace but I can see him doing well in L1 if a team plays to his strengths. I’d expect Tisdale to try and take him to Bristol Rovers, if they can afford him.

Interesting to hear how a number of lower league ‘prospects’ fail to make the grade even in the Championship. Our Scott Twine seems to be flavour of the month after his sensational goal last night.

Blinds some people to what his overall game was like - definitely not Championship standard. Still, if some silly fucker wants to give us a fat wedge for him, thanks very much.

Helps when a player comes through the team and is part of the furniture, either way, those type of cheap punts that make it in the second tier are becoming rare now. Mobility is key these days and quick, mobile, goalscorers cost a lot of money usually. Would be interesting to see how Jon Parkin would have faired in the Championship right now.

Billy Bodin is another who really impressed at this level but just isn't good enough to make the step up, too slow, too predictable and just poses no threat to most fullbacks in this league.

Definitely, I’d guess Kirk may have the same. Strange though as everything was pointing towards a deal going through. But now the add ons ect make it “unaffordable” for Blackburn.
Artell saying all the right things though in regards to us not needing to sell any players and the clubs in the best financial position it’s been in years. Shows what a strangle hold Hassell had on the club.
