Coulson on his way from Boro, seemingly a loan with a view to a perm.

Seems Sunderland and Luton were both sniffing around him.

What's a signing?
Missed out on Callum Morton now too. Are you starting to get worried for the season ahead?

Morton will be a good signing whoever is getting him.

He’s not been fit since about 2018 so that if is massive.

Only a short term deal so I guess it works for you.
Agreed. What was noticeable last night in our PSF against Swansea was that he was talking constantly, for the whole time he was on the pitch. Our young left wing-back‘s positioning was not always great and Galloway was constantly telling him, and the midfielders in front of him, where to be. We did not have that last year.

Rumoured to be back in for Teddy Bishop from Ipswich. Really thought MK were getting him?

Edit, sorry didn’t see above posts.
Talks supposedly just broke down. It's a shame as we need someone in that position to bolster numbers but hopefully we can get Josh McEachran back.

Mo Eisa from Posh in the door. Statement signing and is the sort of front man that could suit our system.

That'll cheer the whole place up
Barry Fry has come out saying that it's a transfer record, yet we've strangely not mentioned that part in the press release despite doing so for undisclosed fees before. Very strange

No, not at all.

As Duff says, we could sign all the players we want for positions we need tomorrow, but he wants certain ones. If that means waiting then so be it.

Of course you could but missing out on your no.1 targets it would seem.

Didn’t show much of that here but then again he wasn’t fit so maybe not confident enough. In his few appearances he was highly unimpressive i found.

He’s highly rated, would have been happy to have him personally but our interest doesn’t ring true to me. We already have 3 left backs one of which signed just a few weeks ago.

who have you got to replace Mullin?

Any idea where he is heading?
I really don't think we can replace Mullin or 34 goals but it would seem we will go with one up top this season and have signed pace to work around Ironside. Lankester from Ipswich and Brophy from Orient will play as a front 3 with Ironside and part of a midfield 5 without the ball.

We have signed Sam Smith who I think will do well playing with Ironside and Hoolahan. He's technically a very good footballer but let's see if he can get the goals we'll need.

I think we'll sign another striker as I don't think Smith would have taken up too much of the budget reserved for Mullin.

Mullin has apparently sacked his agent and representing himself now which suggests he's holding out for the best deal.

Left back Steve Seddon on a three year deal from Birmingham for an undisclosed fee.

Pompey/AFC fans, what’s he like?

Jack Hunt now confirmed. Very happy with that, played a big part in our 15/16 and 16/17 play off seasons.

Great left foot. When we had him he got something like 7 assists in his first 5 games. Most of them corners or free kicks. He then tailed off pretty badly. Not the best defensively. More of a wing back than a full back.

it depends which version you've signed. He was superb for us in his first loan spell and a big reason we stayed up that year. Delighted when we got him back again after he'd been at Pompey but he was very poor, didn't deserve a place in a struggling team and ended up on the bench.

Looks like we’re bringing in Tennai Watson (released by Reading) as cover as right wing back. Played a fair bit on loan down in KT1 and they’ve nothing much good to say about him. Trust The Process, I guess...

McEachran now seems close too, which probably explains us getting cold feet on the Teddy Bishop deal.

We had Watson join us at the start of pre-season but seemed to be dispended of pretty quickly, although our first friendly was down at Reading so maybe it was just convenient for him to get a game.

Btw, agree on the transfer market being really slow at the minute in L1.

By last week, L1 had had over 200 outs but only 130 or so ins.

Crooks having a medical at Boro. No further offers from Town since signing Fraser.

Now officially confirmed for an "undisclosed Fee" as usual.

The local reporter says its £1.1 million with a few basic appearance add ons.

Northampton no doubt very happy with this, as is our Chairman and manager who as I related to earlier were not wanting him going to Ipswich or anyone else in this division.

Hope he can push on and consolidate as a Championship player, he's been great for us overall.

£1.1m is a good steal for Crooks, caused us loads of problems last season.

Big, direct and scores goals, i'm a fan.

That's an odd one by Mullin. Clearly isn't driven by playing football at a higher level than league 2.

Must be some serious money being paid there. He was being linked with Middlesbrough and Blackburn ffs!

His agent clearly fucked up the moves to the big clubs which is why he supposedly sacked him. Left with fuck all on the table Wrexham have got interested and he's gone to the highest bidder.

My initial reaction was it's bizarre, it is, but if they're paying him more than we offered him (almost certainly) and giving him 3 years of security on it, I suppose you can't blame him.
