We've belatedly given midfielder Jay Mingi a one-year contract. Weird situation where he threatened to sue the club, saying he'd signed a contract which we reneged on when he picked up an injury. Looks like we will try to farm him out on loan once he's fit.

Sounds like a bit of a mess!

A bit, yes. Difference of opinion about the contract situation between Mingi and the club, but the fact that we've belatedly given him a one-year deal for a position where we have plenty of cover would seem to indicate that he had a case.

Somewhat under the radar, we signed Dan Crowley on Saturday on a short-term deal.

Made his full debut last night in the Pizza Cup and looked by far the best player on the pitch. Just hope his attitude is up to it.

He undoubtedly has the technical ability but his attitude stank when he was with us on loan.

We had him pre-season and in the games he played for us he looked quality
Gutted we didn’t sign him

Played against us in the championship a couple of years back and looked absolutely quality. Played both wide and as a 10 in that game and just looked a clever player and had that thing that good players have where he just seemed to have loads of time with everything.

Kept an eye out for him since and been surprised he’s not progressed so there’s obviously something off field attitude wise holding him back, thought we might take look a few weeks back given we’ve needed someone a bit creative at that time and he’s been out there. If he get his head right I think he’ll look a class above. Big if I guess though.

Seems like he's been badly advised - we offered him a deal in July after he tore Hereford (alright, Conference North, but still) apart on his own. Everything was agreed, then the next day his agent has moved the goalposts and he's off trialling at Gillingham.

3 months later, we've only offered him a short-term deal because Callum Wright is out long-term.

For such a short career, a couple of months is a long time to miss at the start of a season.

Michael Appleton paid a fee for Arsenal to cancel the loan early. He was a bad apple then, although to MA's credit, nothing ever made it as far as the public domain during his time with OUFC. Everything was watertight back then.

Good player though. I can't help but feel he'll be one of those players you see falling down the leagues with talent who reaches a later stage of his career and does an article lamenting his lack of success in his late twenties despite early promise proclaiming he's 'ready' to put the effort in before it's too late... And never succeeds.

He should be nowhere near League One really. Amazing so many players go the same way.

Stockport sign Sarcevic from Bolton Wanderers, Evatt begged him to stay but he said he wanted to go to a bigger and better club apparently.

Hilarious if Rooney goes the other way as rumoured. Stockport well and truly pulled their pants down.

Not took your new owners long to get jitters. Without Bonne you would be cast off at the bottom

Ha, sure. 1 defeat in 8, leagues top scorers, above Bolton from this Saturday etc.

Irrespective, signing Bonne in the January window would be very good news!

Good luck but you dont win leagues by selling your best player

Sounds like your backers want some of there money back

The Sarcevic one is a weird outgoing, started 13 times in the league and scored 3.

Either there was a longer running issue and Tuesday was the straw that broke the camel's back or Tuesday was a critical incident in its own right. If the latter it does not really show Sarce in a good light. If Doyle is going too it sounds more like the former. Not good for Bolton FC whichever way.

His manager is a Graham Westley level wanker so that could explain a few things.

Can’t say I’m fussed about Sarcevic going, isn’t good enough for this level.

The way he’s allegedly gone about it is petty though.

He’ll do alright in non-league. He’s moved on, so will we.
