Basically, he was the first one of our academy graduates to run his contract down and go for a tribunal-set fee. I'm not sure he was ever as good as Dario thought but I think Dario felt that if he'd signed a new contract and stayed for another year or two he could have gone to a better team and we'd have got more more money for him. The feeling was that he went for the money and should have stayed for another year or two. Dario thought he could have played for England but I think he probably made the most of his ability tbh.
Yeah, Dario Gradi was on drugs, he was nothing special. Not sure how playing every week in L1 would have been more beneficial to playing every week in the Championship.

Was pretty average for the most part with us, bar one really good season and did well to make it as a squad player in the top flight. He did ok for himself and used the system well to move up the ladder.

You a Preston fan? You must have had a superb team for that period if one of your average players went on to forge a fairly impressive Premier League career over the next 5 years.

Seen plenty of average-to-decent players go on to do ok in the Premier League (Dickson bloody Etuhu & Josh Brownhill right now), but yeah, we had some good players back then.

Graham Alexander and Tyrone Mears were both better right backs than him for a start, maybe he improved a lot at West Brom.

Yep, Walker is back. I wouldn't pick him ahead of Kirk, Powell or Dale but there's been some tired legs recently and I'm sure he'll play a part. And we know he'll work his socks off.

Looks like we're about to announce another signing. No idea who.

Strong rumour it might be Stephen Walker from Boro, that would do for me if true as he has ability, a goal in him and he was mad for it when he was here last season. Watch it be Tom 'twitter disaster' Pope

It's a very good signing for me. You are right with the 3 you mention, Owen has come on strong this season. Charlie has been outrageously good at times, DP had a slow start but is there again now, but if something happens to any of those 3, injuries, suspension or they just need a rest, Ste Walker slots nicely in.

Daniel Powell is not better than Ste Walker. Also, I think he’s here as a Striker, not a winger.

We’ve rejected two bids from Charlton for our young winger, Joel Randall. Bowyer said the bids were in region of £300K but we want near £1M.

He’s a real talent and no way we’d sell for peanuts.

Think Bowyer has confirmed we won’t be going back for another nibble.

Stockley to be confirmed later today I think, happy enough with that and hopefully means we’re unlikely to see much of Omar Bogle in a Charlton shirt ever again.

If you put a lot of crosses in the box then he'll probably bag a few in League One, might even be fairly prolific in the right team. Championship was a step too far for him.

Yeah Taylor has said he doesn’t expect Randall to leave this month unless there is a silly bid.

Hope Stockley does well for you and I think he will. We apparently approached Preston about bringing him back on loan but were nowhere near able to get close to the required wage contribution.

Confirmed, looks like there's an option to make it permanent in the summer.

We'll see, you don't often see us go with that kind of striker, but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea. It's healthy to have options and he's bound to get plenty of games.

Yeah. Happy with that, could see a potential partnership of him and Maddison.

I might be wrong, but I’m going off what Warnock said a few days ago. That he was recalled from MK so they could send him back out again to a club that will play him more. So there must be at the very least a gentleman’s agreement for him to play a fair bit (I’m not saying we HAVE to play him or anything like that). The more obvious route into the team IMO is sharing duties with Mandron. I do think he could play that role by himself. He’s quite stocky and strong.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll get plenty of games. There's three positions he can play and we're definitely going to be looking to rotate a bit.

Expecting just two more incomings for us at the back end of next week.

We'll end up with more outs than ins.

We're hoping for a forward loan signing before the Plymouth game on Tuesday. Bakayoko from Coventry mooted.

Signed Anthony Evans on loan from Paderborn in Germany. Former Everton youth who had a not very successful loan spell at Blackpool.

Any other fans and I would listen to them and be pretty worried. Blackpool fans don't have the best track record though, going off Nolan and Nottingham.

Whilst we got smashed 4-0 by Hull we signed Charlie Daniels and George Byers (on loan). So a bit of a bizarre day..

Picked up Matt O’Riley from Fulham after he turned down a new deal there back in the summer. Apparently there’s been some negotiation over the EPPP Compo due. He’s been training with us for six months!

20 years old. Looks like a creative midfielder with a decent left peg and range of passing. Highly rated by Fulham fans who expected him to be around the first team squad this season. Sounds like a bit of a coup. The effect of the football we’re trying to play influencing another talented well-schooled youngster that we’re the place to come and kick start their careers. They’ll all leave us and break our hearts, of course, but it’s the template for now on it seems.

Seems more likely that young lad from Norwich - Tyrese Otomoye. Greased lightning supposedly.

Hoping to sign 2 today, 1 striker (Bakayoko) 1 midfielder (Bostock) but given how secret we are those 2 guesses could be way of the mark.
