Not a bad window for us.
Kwadwo Baah to Man City for a decent fee, and loaned back until the end of the season.
Fabio Tavares to Coventry for a small fee. Got a couple of goals from the bench for us, has pace but is very raw and a bit lightweight. Good luck to him.
Conor Shaughnessy in from Leeds on a free. Big bloke who can play Defensive Midfield or at the back.
Conor Grant in from Sheff W for a small fee. Young attacking midfielder.
Jack Vale on loan from Blackburn to the end of the season. Young forward, apparently well thought of at Ewood Park.

Sounds like Swindon are really going to hate us ...

yeah, confirmed.

Not at all. Any hatred is directed at Power/Sheridan.

So, to sum up. We are so dysfunctional any player with an ounce of talent has left - Smith and DJ to Charlton. A player we signed only 2 weeks ago couldn’t wait to fuck off to Swansea. We’ve signed some right old dross from Northampton and some kid from Swansea in a swap deal with Freeman. We have no strikers apart from a couple of small loan kids when Sheridan is after hoofballing it. We do have, though, 8 CBs - half of which are injured.

And you can still get 6/4 on our relegation.

Fill yer boots!

Needed a striker desperately so we sign yet another midfielder on loan from bristol city, James Morton never heard of him, all I know is he struggled to get in grimsby's side this season.

Jacob Mellis gone to southend also.

Would be pleased with our business this window if we had got the striker we need

Very happy:
Lost Whiteman but for a good fee
Got Balcombe, Simoes, Bostock, Robertson, Bogle and extended Sims’ loan

So we sold Jordan Obita with half a season left on his contract to Wycombe Wanderers for a fee that matched our valuation. We let Derick Osei out on loan to Walsall.

We then signed on loan to the end of the season.
Left sided defender Joe Grayson, 21 year old from Blackburn Rovers.
26 year old Elliot Lee from Luton who gained promotion with them and plays a number 10 role.
24 year old winger Brandon Barker from Rangers. He looks just the type of player we are missing.

Really good window for us in my opinion. Very excited for the rest of the season...

I'm pretty sure at least 2 of those CB's won't play under Sheridan either ID. The whole place stinks at the moment.

No idea who Richard Cawley is but to call DJ a pacey winger is wide of the mark. He's a strong player with quick feet and great skills. He's not slow but I wouldn't say he was 'pacy' either. If he lives up to his potential he could be a really good player at Championship level.

I put one whole pound on Charlton winning the league at 50/1 earlier today. Looks an even better bet now.

Local journo, he’s good to be fair but maybe got that one wrong.

No chance, play-offs are our only hope.

I guess when you are signing a player late in the window journos haven't done their due diligence and let's be honest who knows a lot about league 1 players.

In Matt Smith and DJ you have potentially two top top players. I've no interest in STFC anymore so will be popping in to see how these guys are doing for ya. As well as my financial investment.

In fairness, he was about the 6th winger that we was linked with throughout the day, probably quite difficult for him to keep up!

Hope your issues are sorted soon, it was only a few months ago we were in your shoes, players being picked up by vultures or selling players well below their worth. We’re still feeling the affects of it now like losing Alfie Doughty as we didn’t have him tied down etc.

You've had a cracking window and will be a huge failure if you don't make it up. Not sure how you managed to do that within the salary cap but fair play!
Plenty of departures - Adelakun back to Bristol City, Samuelsen to Denmark, Batty to Fleetwood, de Wijs to QPR, Sheaf out on loan, Milinković permanent move to Canada (was on loan but we would have been paying part of wages). Incoming are Flores, Whyte, Crowley and Clark. Good window.

Reasonably good for us. Four players who want to be starters but were mostly on the bench recently moved on, two receiving small fees. We converted Hardie’s loan, signed Niall Ennis and got two loaned defenders from Premiership clubs. We seem to have three young, good and complimentary strikers now in Jephcott, Hardie and Ennis, all our players.

Some people will say that we have moved on the unkind phrase “deadwood”, I prefer squad players. We are stronger up front, but not sure we are in the back line. If there are injuries or suspensions I think losing two CBs and only bringing in one could be an issue.Though we have three youngsters (one being 16) who have had some first team time as back ups for the bench.

The big win is more what did not happen than what did happen. Namely, Jeffers did not go anywhere, when there must have been interest at Championship level. Now let’s sign him up to a three year deal.

Two in, two out for us yesterday.

Aaron Lewis (RB) as already posted and Max Melbourne (LB) out on loan to Walsall. Max was effectively 5th choice CB and 4th choice LB so well down the pecking order so it make sense for him to be moved on. Cohen Bramall (LB) and Max Sanders (CM) coming in.

A good window for us all in all with four in and six out. We tied Jorge Grant down to a new deal so at least we'll get a decent fee if/when he leaves, we kept all our key and/or loan players, moved players on who had returned from short term moves and hadn't been involved this season and also brought forward the signings of three of our summer targets.

Squad average age of just under 23.

Is your pitch going to be OK for Friday night?

In a strangely masochistic way I am quite
looking forward to watching us getting royally bum raped on Sky Sports

But you thought you had taken our best centre back lol, we told you at the time he was no more than an average league one defender who had 1 very good season last year, for me tucker and ogilvie were always the better players

I saw lots of Gills fans (and Big boy Barry) gutted he was leaving so was expecting a lot.
We even gave him the captains armband and he is shocking.
Slow, no organisation or leadership skills, and makes costly mistakes pretty much every game.
An average L1 defender he is not, id love one of those right now

Yeah dont get me wrong I wanted max to stay as he and tucker had built up a great partnership, but out of Ehmer, tucker and ogilvie if we had to lose one for me it was Ehmer all day long.
Had he held out a few more weeks ( totally understand why he didnt, he has a family to look after) he would have got an offer here and think he would have signed but due to covid we werent in a position to offer contracts whilst there wasnt a start date for this season
I hope max turns it round for you as hes a good guy and always put in a decent shift whilst in a gills shirt.

What I would say is that game was crying out for another striking option which we don't have. We must be the only team in the EFL who currently has 1 out and out striker.

Thought you wanted £3m
You will be surprised by the add ons however Whiteman made it clear he wanted the move so it forced the deal through

If they're promotion based then we might as well have printed notes with Peter Ridsdale's face on them.

I liked Max too and was disappointed when he left, maybe our defence just clicked together and you picked the wrong one. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad player though and I wish him well.

Remy Howarth and Anthony Scully have signed new one and two year deals respectively.

Bit surprising with Remy as he's only really played cup games and doesn't look up to the standard of the rest of the squad but is presumably a cheap squad player. He's one who seems delighted to be given another chance at full time football and whilst attitude isn't everything, that's probably helped him get a new deal.

Definitely not a surprise with Scully getting a new deal. From his first appearance you could tell he had something about him. A real terrier with an eye for goal. Probably not helped by generally playing wider but still into double figures this season despite not being classed as a starter.

EDIT - Just seen Guernica's post in the other thread.

We've signed Abraham Odoh, formerly of Charlton. Scored a couple in trial matches, and been given a contract to summer 2022..

I'm glad Remy is doing reasonably well, even if he's not quite good enough to hold down a regular place in the team at the moment. I saw him play a few games for West Didsbury & Chorlton in the North West Counties League (9th tier) the year before last and he looked outstanding at that level (scored some superb goals including one from inside his own half) but I didn't expect to see him playing in League One only 2 years later...

I've just read my post again and it probably reads slightly harsh. Saying he's not quite at the standard of the rest of the squad sounds like he's on his own but it's actually a handful that you get in all squads that are really squad fillers.

You'd certainly rather rely on a Remy type player than someone who's better but doesn't have the right attitude.

Don't worry, I knew exactly what you meant - he's not ready to be a regular starter (which you'd expect considering where he's come from) but hopefully he's doing a decent job as a squad player.
