Plymouth fans, is Jerome Opoku any good? Rumour up here is we’re after him on loan. Looks a big lad.
think you will get some divided views on him. bearing in mind he was young I liked him, but others will point out he made a few important mistakes. Certainly able to put himself about. Did sometimes overcommit, and get pulled out of position. Not especially fast, but his game is his strength. I think he played every game except those he was banned for - so he had a long season and will have learnt a lot.
I think he first half of the season was better than the latter when he got a bit too aggressive at times.

note that we played a back three, so I can’t comment on how good he is with just two CBS if that is what you play.

PS I bet he got the most yellow cards of our players, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah, we only saw glimpses of that quality, but there’s no doubt he’s still got it. Was well-liked around the place and by fans. As Dippy says, we we’re waiting on him proving his fitness, but once it was apparent he was training with you then it was pretty likely you were front-runners, Also, if Russ was going to take the risk on anyone’s fitness in terms of new signings, I’m sure it’ll be his perennial fave, Louis Thompson. If we don't go for him (just been released by Norwich) surely you’d be back in for another fans favourite?

I would imagine we'd love to have LT back but he can surely get a league 1 club at least. I know Norwich fans thought a lot of him but injuries got the better of him. We are now in a position where we probably have to take a bit of a gamble with players with injury issues but I'd be amazed if we were to get Louis back, even though he is a Swindon boy.

I’d have said that about Gladwin... There’s always players having to re-evalute their standing in the game. I suspect we’re at least thinking about it, but it’s another senior wage and if McEachran re-signs then it may just be a bit too much for us.

He wasn’t great last season, but I think there’s a player in there. We had a young team, particularly in defence and I think alongside some more experienced defenders he’d be ok.

Hakeeb has been confirmed, sounds like a good signing and exactly what we needed.
Looks a decent signing to be fair. Big jump from L2 to the Championship where he didn't get much game time but looks a tall, strong, quick winger. Probably the first we've had like that since DNG back in Schoey's days.

I loved DNG, not only for the tears from Steve Evans, but by God did he excite when he got the ball.

Edmundson from Rangers is done, and Chaplin will complete later today.

Things are starting to fall into place.

Surprised Barnsley have sold Chaplin after just one poor season, still pretty young and bagged 11 the previous season.

Other clubs are beginning to get quite pissed at us, it seems. Makes a change from us being Poverty FC!

Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Lewis Wing both signed on loan.

BPF - I really didn’t want him but he’s here now so hopefully he’ll prove me wrong.

Wing - had a good loan spell last season with Rotherham and their fans seem like they’d have had him back. Other than that I can’t say I know too much about him.

Our Darren loves a loan, we had seven last season and he would have signed more if he could

Yeah, I think I remember you saying that a while back! We’re apparently not allowed to pay a fee for anyone so he’s making do with what he can at the moment. We’re still at least 1 striker short so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a young Premier League striker come in on loan as well.

Wing will be quality in this league I can't be believe we didn't try getting him back with the negotiations with Crooks going out to Boro.

Surprised if he doesn’t go for John-Joules if available looked good for us when not injured

Seem like good additions to me, we were looking at Wing not too long back.

Fancy you lot to be up there, you've managed to retain some quality for this level.

It's just Twitter jealousy isn't it. We'd love to be spending cash ourselves but life isn't like that. You've gone from years of austerity to suddenly having some financial muscle. Enjoy it.

All those years of watching others blow us out of the water with money and signings i think we’re due it. There’s few teams in the country that have had it more dull than us over the past 15 years surely. Think it’s starting to fall into place. Shame Downes is not going to be included, would be class in a decent side

Any chance of Norwood or Jackson coming our way? Our DoF is at your game this evening.

Jackson won’t play for us again, we took up the one year option so we’d get some money for him. A decent L1 player, older than I thought though. Norwood I don’t know. I think Cook likes him tbh but you never know

We have Dan Crowley on trial this evening after he was on trial at Donny last week.

I've heard the name, but know very little about him.

Looked decent against Newcastle but we have few spaces left and 3 other trialists looked better. If we had the funds we probably would have offered him a contract

How that boy has ended up trialling at League One clubs, is ridiculous. He joined us under Appleton and we terminated his loan due to significant issues with attitude.

I gather he hasn’t matured much judging by his career to date.

The expected signing of Tennai Watson has been confirmed following some fairly impressive displays in pre-season games. Looking forward to the chorus of 'he's shit' from fans of his previous clubs but it seems we're looking to play him as an out-and-out wing back which may be the change that shows his hidden talents.
