broke our record that has stood for 44 years to sign him too (albeit its all relative)

there may be more to come too....

general consensus though is most people are happy with it. combined with Tozers long throw we will get a few extra goals and it will free Mullin up from trying to do everything himself
Sad to see Palmer go, but it's a good fee for a 30 year old who I think was out of contract in the summer.

He has been the focal point for our attack, scores goals and brings the other smaller/faster players in to the game. As the old cliche goes, he does have surprisingly good feet for a big man. I'd forgotten Wrexham have Tozer, that could be a very interesting link up.

If he can stay fit and go easy on the kebabs, I can see him scoring a lot of goals for you in the next couple of seasons. Good luck to him and to Wrexham, it's no doubt a life-changing contract for him.

Sounds like we're trying for Marcus Browne on a permanent rather than loan now.

Signed Adam Clayton on a 18 month deal, not sure how long it will take to get him fit but he will certainly add some much missing steel in midfield if he’s even half the player he used to be.

Bit of a Dads Army thing going on there isn't it?! Agard, Bogle, Rowe, Clayton etc!

Good luck with his agent!!!

He'll want his pound of flesh, after moving the goalposts several times.
We said the same about Dan Crowley - I wonder if they have the same agent.

Interestingly, he's not turned up anywhere yet despite apparently being the best player we've ever had (if you believe some comments made when he went)

Guess with his ACL injury he may not hold as many cards as he once did.

We’ll see I suppose.

Good signing that. I'd have took him at Bolton. Yeah his best days are behind him but his experience & pedigree in the higher tiers is valuable.

Harley Dean coming in

Birmingham fans seem happy to be rid but I’ve always had the impression he’s decent. Not sure if it’s a loan deal as I think he’s out of contract in the summer so he could have reached an agreement to finish it early.

I think Birmingham fans believe he’s quite disruptive behind the scenes, think he’s fallen out of favour with the last couple
of managers.

Signed Denver Hume on 2.5 year deal for around 175k. Not quite sure what happened with him. Decent age and gives us a LWB option. Hopefully he can cross properly...

To the absolute devastation of Crewe fans everywhere, Callum McFadzean appears to be signing for us.

Yet was players and fans player of the year last season and remains club captain, hardly suggests he's that type

FYI- We recalled Simpson only because there was a contractual issue with him being on a season long loan; and his contract expiring at the end of the season (with an option for a further year). This has now been resolved and he will be loaned out again before the end of the window, Mckenna has all but confirmed this. He may well go back to Swindon but I'd prefer to see him at a struggling L1 side.

Assuming (which I am) you aren't as bad week in week out as you were against us earlier this season, is your issue that your missing a target man and/or striker - or do the problems run deeper?
Our problems stemmed from Moore leaving us with no players, then having 7 first team players out since the start of the season, a complete balls up in the last window and employing an abrasive character as manager. Since McSheffrey has come in it’s been like a breath of fresh air, we are playing a much higher tempo and the players actually look like they are enjoying it, the one thing we are missing is a striker and target man

Crazy logic that. So he goes to L1, he would rather be back here, struggles to adapt to new style - as he did here - his stock drops and your asset is worth less. He won’t be coming back to us - we’ve already signed his replacement. Don’t understand why he needs to physically return to Ipswich just to sort out a contract. That’s what his agent is for.

It sounds like we didn't realise the contract issue at the start of the loan. Balls up for sure, but for whatever reason the recall was neccasary as a result. Will be interesting to see where he joins before the window closes.

Hope I'm wrong but can't see us getting the Dempsey one over the line at this rate. Pretty sure Wrexham got bored of waiting on thier bid for Gills striker Olivier & just got Palmer instead. In Dempsey's perspective he'll most likely get some very lucrative contracts thrown his way if no fee has to be paid in the summer for him & is probably not going to force a move through this window for that reason. We won't bid any more than what we value him at when he's only got 6 months left, we'll have a few alternatives in the background just in case even if it's just a short term loan. Evatt is so big on him because he'll bring leadership & experience which we'll not get in younger loanees that's why he won't throw in the towel & call it a day on him.

Also signed young Crystal Palace keeper Ollie Webber on a permanent. He's Portsmouth born so it's a return home. One for the future and backup for Bazunu for the rest of this season.

Good to see Alex Bass make such a good start at Bradford on loan. Hopefully he can really show what he's worth and be battling it out for us with Webber once Bazunu returns to Man City.

Only going by what I’ve heard and if he was players player and fans player of the year, there must be some other reason for him being allowed to leave …

Imps youngsters Sam Long and Sean Roughan join Drogheda on loan in the League of Ireland, not sure how long for as their season starts next month. Long made his league debut last weekend at Plymouth and looks set to be our number 1 goalkeeper in 18 months time.
