Swindon fans: Is Obika Championship quality?

Good question. Not exactly a target man in the sense of lobbing high balls into the box, but a target man in the sense of holding the ball up and bringing others into play.

Misses the occasional sitter, but is a powerful runner with the ball and really works his bollocks off every game - nobody has a bad word to say about him.

I know I've fudged the answer - but I honestly don't know.

Based on two loan spells with us and the fact he has only scored 4 goals in around 30 Championship appearances.

You aren't accounting for the fact that he might have developed as a player in the three years since he played for Charlton. Obika was particularly poor in his first loan spell with Town five years ago, so poor that many a fan wrote him off before he had even kicked a ball when he rejoined the club. Now, he's one of the most highly-regarded players among supporters and coaching staff alike. Time passes by, young players develop and get better. He would not look out of place in the Championship.

Yeah, good example in fairness.

I can only go by the 20 odd games I saw Obika play for us in the Championship and look at his record when playing for other clubs. Just think L1 is his level.

It's a rumour as unbelievable as rumours last season that we were going to sign Roofe...

If we were to pay Mk's asking price there is no reason he would prefer to stay at Mk than Oxford.
