Brannagan sounds pretty good so I'm hoping that deal gets hijacked. Although that being said, Oxford fans massively overrated Ryan Ledson when we initially signed him.

It's a big jump to the championship as Bodin, Taylor and O'Dowda have found out following hype in L1

Ledson is an ok Championship midfielder to be fair, but still 5th choice here. Whiteman on the other hand, has stepped up no problem and is one of the first names on the team sheet, so probably depends on the individual skillset for a midfielder.

He can still refuse the move though can't he? Even if the release clause is met.

He can, but from what has been said today by Karl Robinson that won't be happening.

Also, Anthony Forde has signed for Wrexham on a 2 year deal for an undisclosed fee. He signed a new deal earlier in the window so nice to get a fee. A good professional but was only ever a squad player so a good move for all parties.

We'll have Lego back then. :)

I'd have sold this summer if it was up to me, but he's a character and a scouser so I think Lowe likes having him around. Out of contract in the summer, not sure if we'll offer an extension or not but at I guess, I think me might as I can't imagine he's on loads.

Cam Brannagan not leaving as he has signed a new 3 year contract:

Bloody lovely and a massive boost. Nice way to end what was a long day.

Blackpool miss out yet again after screwing around in the previous transfer windows. At least they actually triggered the release clause this time. :pmsl:

Incredible.

Signed a new three year deal. Announced a few minutes ago. No doubt it’ll be the largest contract we’ve ever given. I would think he’s on £10,000 per week.

Terrific news. He’s our absolute best player and central to everything we do.

Rumours of Lowry from Crewe playing in our behind closed doors game against Blackburn the other day. Would be a great signing....easily Crewe's best player with loads of ability. Also Hladky from Ipswich, who was brilliant for Salford a couple of years back....apparently we're waiting on Ipswich to get a keeper in. Final one is McBride from Blackburn....never heard of him.

We’ve signed Nigel Lonwijk on loan from Wolves. 19 year old centreback. Played 22 games in the Eredivisie last season.

Curious with Lowrey how he’s not been signed yet. Linked with big money contracts at Wrexham and Ipswich and now as you say rumoured to be training with us. Unless his agent has been a really difficult one to deal with (and his contract dispute he had at Crewe suggests that) it does make you wonder what’s gone on there.

And if it is the case his agent is an awkward one then that should be a hell of a meeting he has with DC as he has made it plain before he’s not a fan of them.

Obviously he might not be on £10k/week at all, but it's absolutely mental that the state of L1 from a financial point of view means Oxford are having to pay that kinda money to keep a player.

Oxford have pulled a blinder keeping Brannaghan, impressed me last year and will be a right boost to morale that he's sticking about.

Absolutely loved Feji, he got messed around and subsequently fell out with our previous manager,Sam Ricketts As a result was sold off on the cheap to Doncaster,£70k was the rumour. Totally stupid !
If he can stay fit he will score plenty, big lad but with speed and agility. I was hoping Cotterill would bring him back but our loss is your gain

Bonner has said if it wasn't for his injury we'd have no chance of signing him so it's a shrewd gamble which will hopefully pay off.

He sounds different from all of our other strikers and has already proven he can score at this level when fit so this sounds like a typical Cambridge/Bonner signing.

You're right. On the one hand it's brilliant news, he really is the difference maker.

Rightly or wrongly, I expect that figure isn't far away if not exact given he was on his way to sign for Blackpool (with QPR rumoured to have made a late bid too). There was a contract offer on the table from some time ago for which he hadn't signed.

I don't think anything less would have swayed it either. Apparently the contract was agreed in under 30 minutes en route to Blackpool before turning the car back around!

On the other hand I do agree, it's an exorbitant sum of money. When I heard the figure we'd offered to sign Josh Murphy, football from an OUFC standpoint does start to feel less of a community club and more of an entity which is sad. It's a slow regression which often goes unnoticed.

Fej is a really good signing! One of the best poachers we’ve had down the Meadow in recent years. One of those players that will run and run and run all afternoon and won’t leave the opposition defenders alone. He’s like an annoying toddler running around your restaurant table whilst you’re trying to eat your dinner for defenders. Think you’ll love him down the Abbey.

Would have loved to have seen him back in blue & amber this summer as him and Udoh linking up again now that Udoh has improved ten fold could have been lethal. Oh well… like my fellow Salopian says, our loss is your gain. He’s certainly entertaining to watch!

Haha I was literally thinking when I saw that you signed him that you won’t go down! Fej will get you at the very least 10 goals and numerous assists which will push you up the table.

I am expecting Ironside and Smith to get at least 20 goals between them as well so looks like our front 3 are going to be very handy this season. Still time to change that prediction :)

Lowrey would be great and seems he played in the friendly behind closed doors... although would be a huge overload of midfielders... that said Conlon, Lowery, Garrity and potentially Holden would be some great options in the attacking midfield roll, with Walker, Ojo and Pett battling out for the holding, would look difficult to see where Charsley would fit in though.

The keeper we thought was Blackman but turns out we are still chasing the one we want which is waiting on his current club to recruit a replacement, Hladky seems most likely especially with Carlo Nash now with us and helping recruit the keeper who we worked with at Salford.

There was a Blackburn Trialist (McBride) involved last week also and an image appears to also show Josh Eppiah leaving VP this morning, a Leicester City striker who was on loan at Northampton last season (looked immense in the play offs up until he was in front of the goalposts!)

Well apparently we are announcing a signing at 15:30. Knowing how Vale operate it will 99% be someone that hasn’t been mentioned by anyone before.

Rory Holden signs a permanent deal after a trial... if we can get him fully fit its a great signing.

Yep predictable enough but really rated him when he was at Walsall. Seems like he’s made good progress to get back out on the pitch which I’d seen some Walsall fans say was doubtful at one point. Main thing is DC knows how to get the best out of him.
