Watts & Wildschut confirmed, still holding out for the possibility of a striker being announced but can’t be too greedy I suppose

Wildshut is a striker!
Club has said final signing, so no one else coming in, though January is likely to be busy, hopefully Fulham won't screw us around again

Happy enough with both signings. Deals till January makes sense as it gives them the insensitive to earn a longer deal in a few months.

Wildschut has pedigree and if he can produce what he’s capable of then all good.

Like the look of Watts, definitely something to work with.

I can assure you, Yanic Wildschut is absolutely not a striker. We shoehorned him there once because Karl Robinson spent the summer patching up his marriage following an affair with the women’s team captain rather than recruiting strikers.

I’m not sure if that qualifies as being of sufficient quality to be called a striker. To be honest it’s an ask calling him a left winger. He’d identify himself as being a winger though. If you’re playing him as a striker you’re in big, big trouble.

If it’s any consolation he’s a genuinely really nice chap. In League One he was woefully out of his depth.

Wildschut was terrible with us always seemed to be injured.....Never a forward
Played wide left in the days before wingbacks

Dont know if he can defend......Was not good at attacking

Exeter have an annoying habit of getting underperforming players firing though. Brown, Nombe etc

Fair enough, he seems to have played well today though. I guess just having a contract until January benefits all.

How is Jevani these days???
He hasn't made the impact I thought he would to be honest. Played a lot better against us than for us so far but on the whole the team hasnt really clicked yet. He came off the bench yesterday and setup the first goal though

Now confirmed Jesse Debrah on a two year deal. Fee to be decided by a tribunal. Some interesting remarks from Flitcroft regards the rehab program he had been on for injury, suspect that might be manoeuvring to lower the fee at the tribunal.

Doubt it, the criteria for compensation is predominately based around how long someone was at a Club and how many appearances they made whilst there.

So Luke, will we dip into the market for a short-term striker or wait until Vale is fit?

Sod's law isn't it, first time since we've been in L1 where you'd say we have two L1 quality strikers available and they're both out for months at a time.

Looks like Bauer was set to join you on loan but there was a dispute about his loyalty bonus that didn't get resolved. So he stayed. Maybe something will happen in January.

Not really sods law when you signed Vale already injured. We had the same with Coburn last season and it was worth the wait.

I don’t think we will, but it’s an avenue we should be looking at to see what’s out there short term IMO. Obviously neither House or Walker have actually scored this season and we’ve spread the goals around much better so far but it’s House’s ability to lead the line that we’ll miss the most.

No surprise we couldn’t get it done.

We signed some youngster from Udinese on loan but would take Bauer in a heartbeat.

Wasnt he at Bristol City recently, or am i thinking of the wrong player?
Yeah then went to QPR last Jan but not had a club since the end of last season. We seem to be signing old ex Bristol City players but Hunt has done alright

I’ve always like Martin. You ever get the sense of players you appreciate and you just know will play for you one day?

I had that feeling with Lambert, Harold & Martin. I have to admit when Martin signed for City a few years ago i thought that was over, but hey, here we are.

Signing until Jan seems a good deal all round, despite his little belly that seems to be poking out there

Aston Villa have completed the long rumoured signing of our youth player Freddie Lawrie, the fee has not been confirmed but was rumoured to be a "high 6 figure fee" and a Record fee for a schoolboy in the press a couple of weeks ago as Newcastle wanted him.

So aside from the players coming through which look decent we've sold a couple of decent money in the past couple months.

Id argue Ryan Loft was a more desperate signing.
Wouldn't say so, we were after him for weeks so wasn't a last minute one, that said he is out injured for the foreseeable!

Looks like Martin scored 5 in 15 starts in the Championship last season, unless i'm reading it wrong on Whoscored.

12 goals the season before that, i've always rated him as a classy target man.

I think he'll be a very good signing in this league when he's up and running.

Not a transfer but we've tied up centre back & captain Elliott Moore on a new long term contract after promising young centre back Stephan Negru signed a new long term contract a few weeks ago.

On paper it’s a solid signing. Contract until January with a chance to prove/earn himself a full contract. We’ve lost nothing if he’s no good at this level at his age
