We had 15 loan signings last year and nobody complained when we were fighting relegation. So it seems that only rubbish loan players are allowed or the loan system is a farce.

I really don't see the issue. We won last week with only one loan player?

Coventry fans seem to be getting a bit touchy.
I haven't seen a lot of people slagging them off for using the loan system.
Admittedly there was one, literally one, person on our forum criticising it, but other than that I haven't seen it mentioned really.
We have four loan signings but only one, maybe two, actually play.
Why are you getting so defensive Cov?

It's already 11am on a new day? Why haven't Coventry sanctioned a loan deal?

It's mainly because we've become a daily subject on Adrian Durham's show on TalkSPORT where he slags us off for ages for having a lot of loan players (he keeps saying more than half our side is loan players even though by the definition of the rules you're only allowed 5 in a macth day squad...) and I think getting that level of coverage from quite a well known broadcaster has got people's noses up a bit.

Fancy getting wound up by Adrian Durham. You know he and everyone on that station is paid to wind people up??

Yeah, I know that, I'm not one of the ones getting wound up about it, but a lot of our fans our which is why there has been quite a lot of talk from our lot about how everyone is criticising the amount of loan players we have. At the end of the day the loan system exists for everyone, hardly our fault that we managed to use it effectively and bring decent players in who are contributing to the team. It's not like the players we brought in permanently in the summer aren't contributing massively as well. Romain Vincelot and Sam Ricketts are probably 3rd and 4th in our current "Player of the Season standings".

Fair enough.
There is always a bit of the green eyed monster when clubs bring in good quality loan signings.
Not long ago a fair few of Swindon's best players were loans.
The downside of course is that they are not yours and may be recalled etc at any time and it can lead to disruption if you are not careful, though I am sure Mowbray is way too cute to allow that to happen.

Ben Williamson gone out on loan to Cambridge until January.
Cannot for the life of me understand why we signed him.
The Vale fans did warn us I suppose.

Joe Dodoo signs on a months loan. Another striker to add to the collection.

Our young defender Matty Foulds joins Everton for a undisclosed fee.

To be fair no Gills fan expected anything of him anyway. He was always a fourth choice striker to play if there was literally no other option.

Fair play, if there is something the 4th highest scorers in the league needed, it was more firepower. Not the fact that you have the 5th worst defensive record.

I'm sure David has it all under control. Nobody can claim we're boring anyway.:dk:

We don't play 4 out and out defenders though, Hussey is a midfielder.

Signed Jordan Bowery on loan from Rotherham to cover for the injured James Hanson.

Decent signing, I think?

I've only ever seen people moan about him tbh, got the physical attributes but no brain or striker instinct. Sounds similar to Andrew at Rochdale

Surprised we've loaned him out to a team in the same league. Even so I don't know if he's any good anymore. I've not seen him since May last year.

Is there a point to you having Luke James?

He's been very unfortunate, to be honest. He did well coming off the bench against Aldershot in midweek, but other than that, he hasn't really been given the chance.

If all our strikers were fit for selection, he would be 6th choice striker, so to answer your question; no, there isn't any point. Would I like to see him given more game time, yes, I would. There is a decent player in there somewhere, but we're not the club for him at this stage of his career.
