Yep predictable enough but really rated him when he was at Walsall. Seems like he’s made good progress to get back out on the pitch which I’d seen some Walsall fans say was doubtful at one point. Main thing is DC knows how to get the best out of him.
Has had a very thorough medical which you'd think would involve scans etc. It seems like we're paying him an appearance based contract which makes sense.

Even Walsall fans will admit he was their best player when fit, so if we can get him on the pitch then we've got a really good player.

That's a deal about 6 or 7 years in the making for Robbo, he wanted Jones when he was still in charge here.

Yes, it was reported early that was case. Glad we've got him. He's had a proper spell fit last season (even if he didn't play a lot) and had this pre-season as well so hopefully he gets some luck injury wise. We've apparently protected ourselves somewhat by weighting the deal towards appearances etc.

It’s a low risk signing isn’t it, contract reflects his situation and if he gets fit and at the level he was we have a very good player. If he doesn’t we won’t have lost massively and it’s an area of the pitch we have plenty of good options already.

We’ve signed Nigel Lonwijk on loan from Wolves. 19 year old centreback. Played 22 games in the Eredivisie last season.

He played in 2 pre-season games for us and looked a very decent prospect.
Ultimately we didn't take him on for the season but I hope he has a good season for you.

Rumour now is that the person spotted in our car park was Omar Niasse, formerly of Everton and recently at Burton.

Curious with Lowrey how he’s not been signed yet. Linked with big money contracts at Wrexham and Ipswich and now as you say rumoured to be training with us. Unless his agent has been a really difficult one to deal with (and his contract dispute he had at Crewe suggests that) it does make you wonder what’s gone on there.

And if it is the case his agent is an awkward one then that should be a hell of a meeting he has with DC as he has made it plain before he’s not a fan of them.
Haven’t heard us linked with Lowrey at any stage tbh

Doesn't sound like they'll be any in or out movement with us until after the Portsmouth game.

A sex ban this early in the season? Your boys will be fired up for Saturday.

Very close to signing Lewis Dobbin on loan from Everton.

Extremely pleased about this one, honestly think relative to the division this is arguably up there with when we signed Mason Mount on loan. He's an extremely highly rated prospect. He's got outstanding pedigree.

Believe this could be Lampard offering a bit of an olive branch too.

The person on Exeweb who call the Jamal Blackman signing has said he’s heard Isaac Vassell is training with us, with a view to a short term deal.

I was fairly keen until I saw he’s not played in 3 years ffs. Seriously, we need someone who’s able to play now, not someone who will seemingly be on the treatment table.

Celinas Kasımpaşa move looks to be back on.

Our top target remains George Hirst, but still have various Championship clubs in the mix, too.

Harlee Dean looking likely to be let go at Brum which could set the way for a return to us.

We look like we’re signing Kyle Joseph either on loan with a future deal tied in, somehow or permanently on a free with some magic beans going the other way. Not sure how it’s working to be honest to fit in with our business plan.

He’s played and shown flashes at this level previously, anyone with more information on him. The talent jumps off the screen, but can only assume some of the things that he tried and was successful at, which made the highlights, was backed by numerous attempts of unsuccessful attempts.

He will be playing in a rotation with McGoldrick, Collins and Stretton. It’s a long season so I’d imagine he will get plenty of opportunities.

We were linked too earlier in the summer

He's a fantastic player, has a natural eye for goal and was very much a success at Cheltenham last season. It was Swansea who recalled him from our loan because they needed a bench-filler. We certainly didn't want to lose him.

You do wonder why Wickham still gets deals at Clubs when his appearance record has been so poor for nearly a decade or so. You'd also have to question why he keeps trying, I know he's only 29(?) but it can't be much fun for him either, surely his stints at Sunderland/Palace will have seen him ok money wise?
Oh dear

We’re set to sign Wickham on a deal until January apparently. We certainly can’t have based this on any scouting of him as he’s barely played much for anyone in years and when he occasionally has he’s reportedly been shit, so we are presumably signing him based on his name/reputation more then anything.

You never know though, maybe he’ll suddenly find some form and start banging goals in…

Hands off, thats exactly the type of player we normally sign :bg:

Well if he does sign for us (Connor Wickham) on a short term deal, that would be ideal in some ways. Give us the back-up we may need in light of having only two strikers until at least the new year. Give the lad chance to bed in, (no not be in bed, lol). He is fairly local supposing his relatives still live in Hereford. He must have ambition, could be the making of him, could be his last chance as well! May suits us all unless he brakes down again. Vegan diet will sort him out.

Some of the goals he scored looked great, but I did think his tendency for the extravagant would also go against him. He looks like a good player to have develop in this team anyway, so hopefully we can get it over the line. Lawrence is the one surely who will look to play at a higher level.

Officially signed. Extremely please about this one in particular, a player who Everton fans have raved about for a long time and wanted to be given more opportunities. A position where we don't have much depth, hopefully he can get a run of games and show his potential!

So yay, I think we’re officially bottom of the glamour signings table so far, having only signed dev squad players plus unproven Manyoo academy hopeful D’Mani Mellor so far.

When even *Exeter* are signing first-teamers then you know you’re cutting it fine.

But oh well, Ainsworth has suggested there’s still 2 or 3 to come in - just that we can’t afford to get into a bidding war with other clubs so will be sniffing around loan deals or players that look surplus to requirements elsewhere as the new season kicks in.

I’m not too worried, we kept the majority of last season’s squad so we’re already up on more signing-happy teams in terms of the core squad understanding each other’s game and movement, but I’d say we need a little more quality if we’re to challenge near the promotion spots - which our owner has said is the goal.

Do Wycombe need many players though? I've prob not been paying attention but I hadn't noticed many key players leave except Stockdale? My assumption was you had a fairly settled and decent squad?

It feels like there have been less loans than last year so far and I suspect more business will be done as Premier League and Championship clubs finalise squads.
