Would imagine you could do a lot better, that one good game he has is padded out by nine or ten frustratingly inconsistent dross
Do you think he could play as a left wing back? Its a system we've predominantly using in pre season and a position we are short in.

I wouldn't necessarily put him in that bracket although he does get back and do his fair share defensively, he and Meredith at left back had a good partnership supporting one another going either way. His game is all about beating his man and getting it on to his left to put the ball in, against a lesser full back he'll look good, anyone decent who just stands him up or can keep pace with him and he's a waste of time, most annoying is his crossing but as I say he does put a shift in. Look up inconsistant winger in the dictionary and there's a picture of Reid.

How much do you reckon you would pay him? I don't find it that unbelievable to think he was on approx 2-3k with us and now 4-6k at Bradford
I'd imagine he will be by far our top earner if he's on 6k. Maybe only Paul Anderson would be near that figure of our current squad. Had it in my head Cov would be paying him quite a bit to be fair so didn't really get the wage doubling.

I wouldn't trust Reid defensively. There's a big difference in putting a shift in to track back and actually being competent at defending. I like Reid and he used to be a useful player before his bad injury a couple of years ago, but now his good games are too far apart really.

Told today at Southport Clarke to Sheffied Utd a done deal last night. Turned up at Carrington took all his belongings. A good fee involved as well. He wants to go so let him go. Big wage earner, more than recouped what we have paid him for 12 months. Bye Leon see you at Gigg this season.

Apparently we have someone lined up in case Pope left, I'm guessing we'll try for that target now. Needs to be a good replacement.

We look to be signing Sean Kelly from St mirren. A centre back/ left back.

So not only are you not signing anyone, you're now actually selling players?

Speaking to supporters at the game today Mowbray is bringing in three players next week.
We had Fabian Robert playing as a trial its at the game today, I know nothing about him at all ,but he isn't supposed to be one of the three.
I'm pretty sure 2/3 of the academy kids will be first teamers this season, Kyle Spence is getting rave reviews in the matches he's played in so far

We're apparently linked with Ryan Kent on loan from Liverpool and Kristian Bielik on loan from Arsenal.

A local journo reckons ourselves and MKDons are after Sam Morsy and he'd only cost 200k. Yes please.

Definitely not, zero defensive qualities whatsoever, that said he didn't show any attacking qualities either while at Preston bar one good game in the cup.

If he has to choose between the two of us I can't see how we would win. He probably lives a lot closer to you lot and I imagine you could offer more money. It would make more sense.

Seen that. Alan Nixon usually has pretty good info. I'm surprised in some ways that Wigan are prepared to sell him, but maybe I shouldn't be as they were reported as happy to let him go out on loan for the season.

I know we've got bids on the table for a number of players right now, but assumed he was one we'd given up on.

Agreed to some extent, but I think Blades are being a lot more prudent with their wages nowadays. Also, the fact that Robbo has been interested in him for a couple of seasons now could be a factor in where he feels a big part of the plans.

I think we have a wage cap at about 5k which is probably quite good for league one. At the moment we're offering lower wages but good bonuses...so players actually have something to play for (as sadly ours seem to need an added incentive to do well).

Quite surprised we're interested in him to be honest, Wilder is keen on having height all over the field and if he came in Morsy would surely be partnering Fleck...so not the tallest central midfield.

It barely matters anyway, the rest of the team is so shite we could have any fucker in goal and it wouldn't make a difference.

Ballbags. You're getting hysterical.

We'll compete this season, I've no doubt about it. Still 4 or 5 to come in anyway.

Apparentley trying to work on a deal to sign Jason Pearce from Wigan.

Would be really happy if we managed that.

Adam Armstrong touted as a season long loan as a sweetener for Adams going to Newcastle...would be great business if we could do that but expect they'd want him at a championship club tbh

At the complete opposite end of the spectrum to every one else, our transfer business so far has been Ben Turner ex Cardiff, Kyle Macfadzean ex Milton Keynes, Jackson Irvine ex Ross County, John Delaney ex Wexford youth, Loan Chris O'Grady from Brighton. Deals also look certain this week for Lee Williamson ex Blackburn, Lloyd Dyer ex Burnley and Hamza Choudhury returning on loan from Leicester. Still other loan deals in the pipe line too.

Taking Oscar Gobern on trial and bringing back Kevin Foley, obviously looked at our finances and worked out that we can probably afford no fee.
