Interesting. It has ours down at 1,530. We had pre-sold over 1,700, plus POTD.

It’s not unknown for those who have purchased tickets to have a change of mind, but I’ve never known more than 200 not to attend.

that must be wrong surely.... I mean Salford being higher than 3 other teams???

Harrogate are basically the same size as Salford; both hobby clubs bankrolled far above their natural station. Crawley and Stevenage being right at the bottom (rather than just above) simply speaks to how Northern the division is. We would normally average around 100-150 more than Rochdale rather than approximately the same.

yeah i guess. I think our numbers will probably go up a fair bit next season as will most northern clubs with Bristol, Exeter and FGR going especially if Swindon go too. Yes Wimbledon and Gillingham have come in - but Exeter alone going more than makes up for them 2.

What sort of away allocations do you give these days? Looking at next season's trips, other than spending most of our time travelling North, there's only a few 'local' games that I can see, and none of them have particularly large away ends (2k+) apart from us, annoyingly. Not sure how many Sutton will accommodate once they've finished building, but Crawley isn't huge, Wimbledon the same.

We tend to have decent followings in this league historically, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes next year. We won't be at the top of the overall charts thanks to location, but in terms of 'head to head' I think it was the 2011/12 season where we took more fans to every club than they brought to us over the course of the season, so not too bad and probably the best we can hope for next year.

That Mansfield figure includes the away following for the cup games at Doncaster and Sunderland.

You’ll get 1,400ish at ours. Biggest ‘close’ away end will be the Ewes who will give you as many tickets as you can sell as their attendances have fallen off their (admittedly low) cliff. You’ll get in the region of 1,200 at Satanage and Crawley, should you need it.

Realistically unless we're going terribly we'll take up most of those allocations, but we never seem to travel too well to Colchester, don't know why. Orient is probably our easiest away day of the season so the EFL will probably knacker it up for us and make it the Boxing Day game.

Not bad from us considering how useless we were away from home this season.

Here is my 'raw' average. My data includes about dozen estimates throughout the season but it would not make much difference to the raw average.

I feel the best supporter away travel champions need to take into account, distance travelled, away sell outs and if games are in evening or afternoon.

I will come up with a more realistic table later but for now try this for willy waving

Ours is decent enough, would obviously have been much higher with selling out the last 5 or 6 and low allocations in a couple of the later key games.

A rare season where we actually have good away form probably helped too!

If we do stay down and have a decent season we should hit far higher figures too with Crewe and potentially Wrexham and Stockport to add to the mix where we traditionally take sell out/large followings.

Local games verses Newport & Bristol R have obvious largest away support at TNL.
Surprising that last home game of season Harrogate bring lowest away support to [then] championship leaders and go and win game !

As promised this is the ultimate willy waving table.

As I said before, anybody can take hundreds to an away game down the road when this is no limit on capacity. Also travelling on a Tuesday night reduces away support compared to a Saturday afternoon.

I have converted each away attendance into the equivalent of travelling 150 miles on a Saturday afternoon or 100 miles travelling on a Tuesday night. For example the 37 Harrogate fan's 300 mile trip to Exeter on a Tuesday night counted as 111.

In addition, I have calculated a median figure instead of just an average to take into account sold out away ends.

So the winner is.........

Talking of taking hundreds to local games. Our shortest trip to Harrogate was limited in numbers obviously because of their capacity. If the ground was big enough, we'd have easily taken 4 or 5 thousand. Many Bantams live toward the Harrogate side of Bradford, including me.

As with the rest of the top 6 or 7 clubs in this division if you’re doing well you’ll have good numbers, shit you’ll have crap numbers. Not many but the hardcore of a fan base want to travel across the country paying potentially £100+ to watch their team get beat and be lower half league 2. Shame as only 4 year ago we were averaging around 1500+. The only numbers that really look decent are Oldhams, to get them numbers when you’re bottom 2 of the basement division they have some very loyal supporters.

1659 Port Vale in a crowd of 14086.

Swindon have sold out their 2200 allocation for the away leg on Thursday. Have to feel for those that can’t get/afford season tickets as it didn’t make General sale.

It’s bizarre really. After the first day the Vale ticket office said 500 remaining then at the end of the next day they said a handful were remaining. In some respects given there was no trains and them only being on sale for 2 and half days it’s a decent number in itself but very strange, should note I’m more looking towards our ticket office on that.
