I don't live in Gillingham to be fair, with the high speed it's easier I grant you. My point was that a trip of just a few miles is more of a pain in the arse in London, especially when the trains aren't running. By car it's mostly fine but you can't park anywhere, which leaves the other option of getting the coach - and have you seen the state of some of our fans?!

Most lower league clubs have their "characters" who travel on coaches ;)

Speaking of coach travel, we've been running ours at losses. Last season the average number on our coaches was 24 people. Its run by our supporters club, they've basically said if numbers continue to dwindle they may cut it altogether.

If you're like me and go every week, you can get alot better value on the train when you book in advance these days - especially with a railcard discount.

I would agree with that .There is very little parking around Plough lane on a match day .It's mostly resident's permit parking .

Orient is pretty well connected though, unless you're expecting a 5 minute walk from a station. Loads of places to go before the match if you don't mind a little walk.

If your train into London comes in somewhere West or South it's maybe a bit more of a pain but for coming in at Kings Cross/Euston way then like E10 says Stratford is so easy to get to. Even where there are TFL strikes there are so many lines/buses serving Stratford that the worst that will happen is that your link to there might be a bit busy.
Yeah Orient isn't the worst, I was originally talking about Wimbledon as we're there Saturday.

From here trains get into Victoria, which is reasonably awkward for anywhere football related. More awkward than it needs to be at least!

Does the 3,700 home ticket sales include season tickets?

It’s gonna be sparse in both ends it seems.

As mentioned by White Army we should hit between 6 and 7 thousand as usual.

The big one at home for us this season will be Stockport at home on a Friday night in September. Can see them bringing
2400 and helping it be a 10k/11k+ attendance.

Surely not to Wimbledon though? Isn't it a doddle for you from Victoria via the district line? Apologies if I have read the messages and got the wrong end of the stick. Or are you completely friar tucked because of the train strikes?

And I used to live in Battersea which had an SW postcode. So I've been lying to all these people when I used to tell them I lived in London. Sad times.

13th August strikes announced today as well. Already got my train ticket to Rochdale and LNER are affected. Brilliant.

Yeah train strikes affecting all South Eastern services makes getting into London in the first place the problem! Without issues, most games in London are ok although some take a bit of switching tube lines and the like. These strikes have made it a bit of a pain, although I support what they're doing so I won't moan too much!

Yeah I hear ya. Working in London I've been affected but thankfully we have a hybrid WFH policy so don't have to shlep on down to Euston whenever there is a strike.

Good luck with your journey on Saturday, i'm a lazy article and will be on the Ifollow Express up to Harrogate! There is usually a few glitches but the drinks trolley is always prompt!

It's administratively London but culturally a mix of urban sprawl and suburban Surrey, which it was still part of until 1965. But then Leyton couldn't be called London either 150 years ago so your jellied eels credentials aren't much older than ours.

My personal feeling of it is that if you can catch a tube train to it (particularly Zone 5 and lower), it's in London. Appreciate there are a few outliers with that thesis, but it's a reasonable rule.

Whatever Bradford are doing with away tickets seems to be pissing off a lot of fans - it's all over our hashtags as there's a lot of fans desperate to come to Barrow for some reason.

Seems like they're running a points-based system, but people's points are randomly being taken off them.

Can see a lot of Bradford fans getting in the home sections. It'll be a better view for them anyway.

Let’s be honest, it’s a ball ache because of the piss poor allocation.

Let’s be honest, Stevenage with a handful of fans are going to be that shithouse team under Evans, nowt more depressing when you get spanked at home by a club like Stevenage with 13 away fans.
