You expected us to easily shift 2800 tickets sitting 15th in Lesgue 2 with nothing to play for, not exactly round the corner, our 8th away game in six and a half weeks and an early kick off? No fucker in this division is doing that, not even the massive chickens LOLz
And Donny away is a week after Bradford.

Wow - some response that.

Yeah, I did think you’d shift 2,800 tickets - given you shifted them on your last visit?

If you’ve shifted 2,000 already, what’s 800 with 5 days remaining?

It’s only 90 mins away, after all.

I think we still had a sniff of the play-offs last time and were still in thrall to Hollowman…

Affordability is much more of an issue now as well. It may be only 90 mins away but it’s still another £50+ day for what is a dead rubber. Who else brings 2k to you other than clubs sub 50 mile away and at least play-off challenging?

He's on the wind up. It was a valiant attempt to be fair

Yeah unfortunately I don't think we'll sell Bradford out, been an absolute monster of a month. 6 away matches in March! If we weren't in 15th in April it would have been a different story.

I think it was a perfectly valid comment from Firthy who I don't think was on the wind up, considering we have sold out in the past there.

2000 is still a decent effort all things considered. Hopefully we'll be going back next season earlier in the season or with something to play for.

We've shifted almost 900 tickets for Saturday's trip to Orient, likely over 1k making the journey by match day. Believe the home ends are sold out too, should be a hell of an atmosphere...

I’m gonna stick my neck out and say our numbers at Crawley tonight will be slightly less than the 2000ish we’ll be taking to Bradford.

Is 1200 all you've ever given at your place fish fans? I'm sure we once had more than that when you battered us 3 nil in the Evans days.

Nah, he obviously was, especially after it was explained in simple terms why it wasn't reasonable to expect we would sell them out a week in advance. He might be a Yorkie but he's not that slow on the uptake

You can blame Notts for that. I'm convinced we wouldn't have been doing this if they hadn't shat their pants and slashed our allocation for the playoffs last season. Will be interesting to see what they do if they have to host Chesterfield in them this season.

I'm staying out of it mate.

I reckon we'll get a fair few paying on the gate what with it being pay day on Friday.

I don’t think Notts will be playing Chesterfield at home in them as 2nd play the winner of 5th v 6th and I can’t see Chesterfield finishing that low.

Ah yeah good point, just had a look at Chesterfield's fixtures too they're nailed on to finish 3rd I'd say.

I don't quite remember a month quite like the last month we've had. 9 matches in total, 6 of those being away. Two absolute monster followings down South, the first one being a quite ridiculous following on a Wednesday. The reward was one of the best atmospheres I've ever been in and a Premier League scalp.

I thought the two Southern ones were poor efforts at first but they're really in keeping with comparable support in the division. Stockport and Mansfield haven't been down South midweek, Bradford took 263 Gillingham, Carlisle took 225 to Northampton (similar sort of distance to us going down South) and Donny took 307 to Crawley. These figures really drive home how good some of our midweek Southern followings were last season (700 to Bromley and Wealdstone, 500 to Southend). Hopefully next season if we're involved in a promotion push those numbers will be back up. Last night's atmosphere was decent though despite the relatively low turnout.

Breakdown of the full month:

Wed 1st March - Southampton (a) - 480 miles - approx 4200 Town fans
Sat 4th March - Carlisle (a) - 374 miles - 428 Town fans
Tue 14th March - Sutton (a) - 440 miles - 273 Town fans
Sun 19th March - Brighton (a) - 516 miles - approx 4600 Town fans
Wed 22nd March - Mansfield (a) - 144 miles - 1102 Town fans
Tue 28th March - Crawley (a) - 476 miles - 329 Town fans

Total: 2430 miles, approx 10,932 Town fans.

Mileage is based on roundtrips going off the most direct driving route on Google Maps.

Special mention to the tinpot Prem clubs who don't even announce away attendances...it's almost as if they don't care and/or cling onto any vague shred of success possible? Even more special mention to Southampton who didn't even announce the full attendance probably because it was so pitiful on their part.

*363 to Gillingham - after it was rearranged twice - and we’d taken 4,000 away to Doncaster just days before.

Ah okay, I was just going off the first post in this thread but can see it got corrected further down the page.

Much of a muchness really. Doesn't change that our midweek followings down South/midweek long journeys are on par with the sides in the playoff spots in the division.

That’s fair enough. Unless there’s something riding on it, we usually take 500+ down south midweek (which is comparatively average). I believe we had sold more than that for Gills before the first postponement.

The difference between our support and the rest is that we take thousands to fixtures within a certain mile radius - it’s been that way for as long as I can remember.

3,200 to Dale for our next away outing and Swindon the Tuesday after. It’ll be interesting to see what we fetch down there.

Yeah, postponements have been a right pain this season. All three of those midweek league matches in my post about March were re-arrangements. Mansfield and Sutton were both supposed to be Saturdays, I'd have expected us to sell out Field Mill and the initial Sutton allocation if they'd have stayed in their original dates.

Great numbers to Rochdale, to be fair. Can't recall us ever taking 3000+ plus there. Trains to Swindon were a total and utter nightmare when we went earlier in the season and apparently it's a regular thing, hope you don't have similar problems.

Hopefully they both stop down and someone obscure like solihull moors come up

No trust me, you don't want them up. Terrible away day. Ground is like a 40 minute publess walk away from the station. Crap ground too, very soulless. Nice pitch though to be fair.

Unsurprisingly we’ve sold out the initial allocations at Sutton & Gillingham. How much of the scaffolding is safe enough to use these days?

Would be awful if county got that many points and didn’t go up!

Chesterfield are in their 5th season and can’t win the league (which we did in our 5th season down there) so their record will always be worse than ours for that!

I think total capacity including the Gordon Road Stand is now about 1600 or so
