Allocation at our place might be even smaller now after Notts fans smashed seats and vandalised the toilets on Saturday.

I didn’t see anything smashed up, the toilets were absolutely rank though, largely because it’s way too small down there for that number of people. Our concourse is the same mind by all accounts.

There were definitely some clowns out. Whoever decided to set a smoke bomb off about three feet from a steward (for an equaliser after 14 mins!?) chief among them.

Believe I remember Notts County doing that at Field Mill in the past too.

Very surprising for such a quiet and subdued fan base.

It’s probably the same bunch that paint sprayed around our ground pre-season the other year, I think those individuals may crave for another club to see them as rivals.

I only know because I have the stadium maintenance lad on FB and he posted some pictures, looked to be about 10-15 seats and the damage in the toilets was to the seats, roll holders, soap dispensers etc. Not seen anything widely publicised. I believe Notts have been billed for it reading the comments on said post

Yeah it happens depressingly frequently I think and clubs just sort it out between themselves. The police were filming a specific group off the train then again for the whole match so they’d definitely decided there was something up.

Temporarily smaller. How many smashed seats are we talking?

Which clubs fans haven't damaged seats?

I fear it maybe as a result of our recent huge growth in our fanbase and much welcome major shift in demographic towards young supporters.

If they do then they are sad and deluded. Everybody in world football knows that Mansfield and Chesterfield are the most bitterest of rivals with such a toxic environment created, which has historically led to many a case of antisocial behaviour and some frankly very ugly scenes in Norths Derbys and North Notts over the years.

Bizarrely, to me at least, The Main Stand is now not the priority. The ‘Findus’ is highest amongst the Safety Advisory Groups concern.

I am very much of the opinion that our SAG are very obstructive. They don’t seem to want to work to find acceptable solutions, just intent on declining everything.
Crikey what's that about then ?

I know they said at the last fans forum something about it , needing some special paint applied or something. Is it even more than that ?

We’ve been allocated 735 for Wimbledon- is this our lot? Seems low. It’s our most popular SE trip, I’d expect those to sell and more, especially if current form continues. I need 6 for this and maybe a couple more.

We have a local rival called Nottingham Forest, you stags seem absolutely obsessed with us and chesterfield, not our fault you have less fans and stands than both of us :)

It says initial allocation, so I'd assume we'll get the full 1200 or whatever it was we took down there a few seasons ago but you never know these days with away tickets. Do home fans ever go in that stand, Womble fans?

Gunna just go in the home end mates a wimbledon fan so I'll take the £30 odd quid side view with him and try to be quiet

Swear ticket prices are going up monthly

If demand is there, I guess you'll be given more tickets. Thing is, if we fail to sell tickets to away supporters, home casuals will take up the slack as they did last Saturday.

This. I honestly don’t get some of the younger fans who seem intent on stoking something up between us and Notts. It’s never been like that previously, and I still feel the vast majority of the fan base on both sides hold no malice either way.

Those younger fans who only started following us through the conference years won’t have experienced our rivalries with Mansfield / Rotherham etc first hand, therefore Notts is the closest thing to it for them whilst we were down in the National League. I’m sure it’s a similar case for those younger Notts fans too.

I’d be lying if I said I’d not grown to dislike Notts a little more than I ever had done before the NL years, whilst we were both down there though. I think it’s natural when both clubs are competing for the same competitions year in year out for a few seasons, but I agree this pretending it’s a rivalry is a bit cringeworthy, and I’m sure it’ll die off over the next few years when both clubs have re-established themselves back in the EFL.

I don't dislike Chesterfield at all. I'm an old boy compared to these enthusiastic whippersnappers so have always viewed Chesterfield the same at Rotherham and Mansfield etc.

It's a local game, so naturally local rivalry. Because there have been two play off games between the clubs adds a little more naturally and with Notts coming out on top both times it's understandable that some Spireites especially younger ones will dislike us purely because we ended the promotion dream both times.

To me it's just a bigger gate , more money and better atmosphere than your average game.

We've played each other once competitively I think in about thirty years, League cup about ten years ago but despite being in different orbits they are definitely Notts' number one rival. Hate the twats.
Stags and Chesterfield don't mean much more than Port Vale and Peterborough to me.

Yeah the young Notts lot are well up for it. I came out of our match the other August after they'd come back up expecting to be shaking hands and nodding and saying good game lads, however was greeted by a bunch of 15 year olds shouting 3-2 ON YOUR BIG DAY OUT. I don't mind it, they've always been the lower league Fulham over recent decades.

No one will get more than 1,900 this season then, interesting.

I think we’ve just decided that we don’t want to let teams bring massive away followings for a big day out any more and try and keep as much home advantage as we can. Particularly as all the extra money tends to be swallowed up by policing and stewarding costs anyway.
That away stand concourse isn’t fit for purpose. Far too narrow. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a safety ruling limiting how many you can have in due to concourse

I wonder if any Town fans weren't expecting or wanting to shake hands, nod and say good game after the 3-2 defeat.

Grimsby fans young and old have long had a reputation of being up for it especially on their travels.

Oh and those young Notts whippersnappers are wrong although a cheeky harmless chant there is only one true #BDO

Oh yeah there were plenty of Town fans willing to give those young Notts fans what they wanted (most of them old enough to know better!) and they were met with fake crying, a superb display of shithousery from behind a line of police.

No think they are the highest since 92/93 when we were in the top flight. 6 consecutive 10K crowds at the San Sirrel. This impressive run will end against Harrogate
