Officially booted out of the League Cup, not a huge suprise as its written in the rules. Would love to see if they'd boot out an established Premier League side though in similar circumstances.

17 of our 23 man squad tested positive.

Apparently it would cost the EFL a total of £12million to regularly test all 72 clubs per season, no wonder they tried to blag it by not making it mandatory for Leagues One and Two, now they've been caught out by whats happened to ourselves.

I will be amazed if we're not the only club that suffers from this.

You know whats coming the premier lge will pay for tests and pay some of the loss of attendance.
The payback will be no relegation this year from the premier league.

Sorry to hear that. It's pretty disgraceful and I hope you get some form of compensation

That is what Spurs and Liverpool have done I believe.

Sods law Orient use the tests then end up losing out on that Sky money.

The premier league are not in the habit of dishing out money to every bunch financially inept losers who approach them. masi is living in dream land if he genuinely thinks the premier league are going to bankroll his club.

some clubs will quite rightly go to the wall. it's no different to bury. everyone has to manage in the same conditions, if your club has chosen to financially wreck itself so it has no hope of survival then you need to get your voluntary CVA in place like so many have in the past.

wrap your neck in. Our club is financially sound. You got a payout this year but you need that each year just to survive.
Sooner or later your time will come

It's as financially sound as Enron. I'll bet you've even got an audit saying so.

Bradford City 2-1 Stevenage

Overall, we were quite comfortable. A little suspect in defence; but that’s understandable given we lost two CB’s to suspension against FGR.

New boy, Gareth Evans came on and hit the post - very unlucky not to score on his debut. Connor Wood saw his effort rattle the cross-bar.

Lee Novak is on fire at the minute - 6 goals in 10 app since arriving at the club. He’s squandered at least 3/4 really good scoring opportunities anorl - the ones where it’s probably harder to miss.

It’s all a game of if’s, but’s and maybes; but IF we had held out against FGR last week and didn’t miss the sitter against Colchester, we’d be 2 points clear, top of the league. I’m sure a few other clubs have had their chances too, in all fairness.

McCall‘s football is a joy to watch at times.

Let’s see if Grimsby can pull their fingers out of their arses and get the game on next week.

Where the fuck do i start....Goalkeeper one day this lad will be a good one but it will be long after he has left Bolton.
Right back Jones ok steady eddie. Left back Gordon a bit like Crellin will be a player one day but that may not be for another two seasons.
Centre backs Taft is ok but a world beater compared with Santos. Evatt drop him for his own good.
Midfield White,Comley poor not good enough.
Hickman on the right good player.Delafonsao on the left good Crawford/Sarcevic not been at there best but quality on there day. Doyle cannot blame him no service.
The spine of our team is horrendous.
Delaney/Brockbank has to replace Santos.
Tutt and Darcy to come into central midfield Mascoll in at left back
Lloyd Isgrove to go out left and Delefonsoa to go up top to help Doyle.

so if things don't improve and you lose each week how long would you give Evatt - bearing in mind you won't be able to sign anyone else once the window closes?

The is no need to sign anyone...he has the players. Think he is safe unless it looks like we could go out of the lge.
He and the DOF Tobias Phoenix are a big investment for a lge 2 club.
Our owners seem level headed and know things will/should improve.

We weren't at our best yesterday or anywhere close, but sometimes you just also have to say fair play to the opposition and I'll give credit to Harrogate. They tried to play little football but what they did do was stay organised, closed us down at every opportunity and threw bodies in the way all game. Although we were the better side overall, just, as the away side they were deserving of a point.

From a Vale perspective it was just one of them days. We took an half to get into any sort of rhythm going forward (again, credit to Harrogate for this) and our best chance, which was a sitter, fell to a player (Worrall) who had already had a poor game by his usual standards. Still, three clean sheets on the bounce and a tough but winnable game away to Morecambe next weekend, I'm not going to complain too much. Clearly like most sides we have some players who are a bit more fitter and in form than others. Really looking forward to having Pope, Amoo and Gibbons finally available, as all three could go into our 11 despite our solid start to the season.

I think you'll grow accustomed to that kind of game if you remain near the top. Whenever you're a top team nobody will come to your ground looking for a win, everyone will come looking for a point. I think if Vale can overcome those games and get a win, they'll go up. I think getting a victory in that kind of game seperates the top teams from the rest.

Very true! We'll clearly be better this season when playing teams who will come at us, and not sit in. To be fair to Harrogate they didn't exactly park the bus, and created a couple of decent half chances. But I think early in the second half they decided that a point was a great result if they didn't before, and defended like they meant it. These sort of games are the ones you need to score early, which completely changes the game and how the opponents set up.

We won't be a free scoring team this season. I can't see us hitting 3, 4 or 5 too many times. But I was of the opinion that we would have one of the better defensive records in the league come the end of the season before a ball was kicked, and three games in obviously we've made a good start and I've not seen anything to make me think differently. I'm obviously biased but I don't see a better three in the league than Brown, Legge and Smith. But our managers 4-3-3 system can leave our forward, be it Cullen, Robinson or Pope now he's back, isolated at times, and if the wide players aren't quite at it then we might have a few results like the one yesterday.

well if Bolton fail on 1.5m a year wages theres not much hope for most in the lower leagues
You can’t keep trotting that figure out. You know darn well that your signings prior to the wage cap starting have pushed up your budget to L1 levels at least

Why do you keep going back to money....sure like most teams we will take a hit.
The hotel lost £1 plus in bookings,we have a decent wage outlay. £3.5m to find before August.
The side of that is assets are worth close to £30m
And owners with deep pockets.
We was taken over at the right time,by the right owners

Because you said your wage bill is £1.5m when it patently is not.

You brought up money, not me.

Masi that is a distraction technique. You are addressing a point/question not made, and thereby ignoring the subject. Namely, whether your budget is really £1.5 million this year. I suspect many people are struggling to believe that the actual cost of your playing staff is indeed within £1.5 million.
