Well, weirdly Nicky Ajose was at our game on Saturday in a Exeter city tracksuit. Turns out he’s coaching for us in the academy so not sure if he’s planning on playing anymore. The rumour is that he signed a 3 year deal with us in 2019, so we basically released him from his playing contract a year early so he could coach for the final year of his deal.Rumoured to have Nicky Ajose on trial as well unconfirmed so far though.
Yeah but he was even one of the shitter ones.Ah, that's who he was, watched the end of that friendly with Brentford B and he looked OK against decent opposition. Having a shit season for Grimsby last term was all the rage so maybe don't hold that against him.
Tom Nichols signed a new two year deal at Crawley plus an option for a further year. 15 goals and 15 assists last season so very glad to have kept him.
Yems has said how pleased he is but that Nichols hasn't signed for financial reasons. Bit worried by that but I'm taking it as he is happy here and didn't think earning an extra £50 a week was worth moving for.
Also club captain George Francomb and Jack Powell have signed similar new deals.
We'll need him to be on form with games against Branmere, Bansfield, Burnley and Boldham coming up.Not a new signing, but a contract extension - Max Taylor, signed on a free from Man Utd in the summer has had his one-year deal extended to two. He's become a regular, looked very steady and seems to be getting better with experience. Even his og v Bolchester was tucked away expertly...
His strategy of signing players from us (a terrible team) never seemed like a strong oneWe've parted company with recruitment director Lee Turnbull. Not arsed about him personally as he's had a mixed bag of incomings but the role itself is something we've needed for years so the fear is we're ditching that to go back to giving the manager total control.
Sincerely hope it isn't the case but we shall see. Either way our recruitment needs to be better.
Timi is one of the most frustrating players around, got most of the attributes to have a good career but has trouble seeing what's in front of him. Huge confidence player and he ain't playing with any at the minute. Now is that the same underwhelmed as when Oates signed, lol
Can,t see Timi getting much game time after Tuesday
but unfortunately Killip will,he really does let himself and the team down
Jordan Cook is a really weird signing, I’d just presumed he’d not play in the league again. He’s actually pretty decent, the very definition of ‘he’ll do a job’. The problem with Cook is that absolutely nobody knows his best position, even he probably doesn’t know. There’s clearly talent there and he’s well thought of here. We've signed some strikers, Mike Fondop ex everyone by the looks of it and Jordan Cook , last seen at Gateshead.
Maybe the deals were result/goal based, For sure they were offered more dosh. Two really poor signings on the face of it but I like RiftHouseLad constant positive vibe, hope DC can work his magic on them.
What is beyond any realm of understanding is they sign all these forwards but wouldn't offer decent deals to the likes of Oates/Bennett etc. You'd think these extra signings wages would equal one or even two strikers with a better track record. But no this is Pools after all
Timi was immense in the playoff final and i agree he has what it takes.Timi is one of the most frustrating players around, got most of the attributes to have a good career but has trouble seeing what's in front of him. Huge confidence player and he ain't playing with any at the minute.
