Be great for Grant to get a move. Everybody here loves him to bits. Fantastic player at this level, top league shithousery, obviously will be short of match fitness.

Everyone will wish him well.

I would echo that. A really good servant for us that by all accounts is very popular behind the scenes. He started the season in the team but it all seemed to go Pete Tong when he went away with Jamaica. I personally don't think he was great for us this season but you know what you get with him. He hasn't played a game for ages but I think he keeps himself fit and in shape so wouldn't be massively concerned about it. He is exactly the type of player you need in a relegation battle and I really wish him all the best.

But I can’t see the difference between Grant going off and playing for Jamaica and KKH and Wollacott doing exactly the same for England and Ghana.

Must be more to it than that.

I personally don't think Grant really fitted the way we played and the Jamaica thing is probably a bit of a smokescreen. I guess once Williams, Grant, Payne, Reed etc were all properly match fit (they didn't have much of a pre-season whereas Grant did) he was going to fall out of favour - That said he would always be a useful body on the bench and so not sure if there is anything more to it that we don't know about.

Happy with Bogle, great signing. He'll be the main striker and play every week so hopefully that'll bring the best out of him.

Apart from a keeper and perhaps a ball winner in the centre, I'd say we're fine until the summer.

Risky signing for Hartlepool but it could well come off and considering who they are likely able to get to the club that’s probably best they could do currently, especially considering he can do the business at this level, that much is proven but if he will again is anybody's guess!
Massive risk. It's been 5 years since he was decent and he's kicked his toys out of his pram at at least 2 of the 8 (eight) clubs he's been at since. Scored some of the most important goals for us in recent years in our playoff promotion and then looked absolutely class at this level for the first half of the season, so if Hartlepool can somehow get that player back then it's a belter of a signing. That's a massive if though and I personally don't think he'll turn out to be good for them.
Harry Davis confirmed as left to join Fylde.

Think it speaks volumes about our summer recruitment when our captain and big summer signing leaves to join a team in the Conference North.
How has Davis been for you? On paper he seemed like exactly the type you needed to come in. Steady, reliable and consistent 6/7 out of 10 player to shore things up at the back. Guessing it's not really panned out like that?

Like most of our players this season, works hard but simply not good enough.

He wasn't helped with injuries as he did have two separate head injuries but it just didn't work out here.

Regular football, fans will love him if he puts a shift in. On paper he is just what we need. If that can't motivate him then I guess he's just finished. Time will tell.

Sounds like Mansfield will finally sign Kieran Wallace on a short term contract for LB cover, had serious injury issues and I’m a bit concerned about our depth in that area if McLaughlin gets injured.

Other than that I expect it’s outgoings, unless we have a bonus signing in the works which I hope we do especially considering our two CBS tomorrow will probably be a converted midfielder and a striker.

Any news on Corey O'Keeffe? Its a position we could do with filling.

He's decent enough but he was probably 5th choice in midfield here, Came on down the right a few times but now we've signed Akins probably knew he wasn't going to get many minutes

Assume he’s in to cover for the loss of Conlon for 4-6 weeks initially. Unless we’ve lost Pett, Garrity or Walker as the latest injury!

I hope we can find someone... looking at the decent strikers signed by other bottom-half clubs though I don't really see anyone who might have signed for us. Older established players stepping down a level usually don't want to travel to far flung locales like Carlisle. Unless they're based somewhere like the North-East then we're rarely in for those kinds of player unless we get the chequebook out. If we were ever in for someone like Akinde then we'd probably have to offer him considerable more than Colchester will have offered him to get him to come up.
Then we should get the chequebook out. It would be a small price to pay to save our Football League status as relegation would cost us a lot more than a year and a half's wages of a half decent striker.

appreciate a signing from mansfield might not excite port vale fans but he’s a good lad and decent player, i can’t fault his commitment.

as RC said he was always going to struggle after akins signed.

Wish him all the best

By the description of him he sounds like another Garrity which is no bad thing at all. At least with Conlon it's likely to be no more than 4 weeks he is out now. Feared the worst when heard them say it was an Achilles injury, done well to play through it as long as has done.

Sounds decent enough, obviously when for he’s got the same issues at Mansfield as it’s hard to unseat Conlon, Pett and Garrity and Walker has been decent when called upon so should be a good battle for those 5, possibly 6 when Taylor recovers.

I think it’s likely Charsley been given assurances of more game time to make this move. I was hoping to keep him because he’s a good player to have in the squad, although not done much this season untill the other week when he came on and scored two.

Expect him to work very hard, decent attacking threat but can go missing easily too, he’s a decent player at this level.

I think we are a tad heavy in midfield but lacking in defence so this does make sense if we get another CB in.

Another fee too, plus another likely incoming with O’Keefe on top of Menayese.

We have signed Reece Devine a left back from Man United thank god no more Zac Mills or Ward hopefully both awful.

Said it before he has the best agent in all of football to keep getting contracts at EFL clubs. Mills is absolutely terrible.

O’Keefe now confirmed to Rochdale no mention of a fee on the OS though.

O'Keeffe back to Rochdale, if a video tweeted by the club with the lad saying "I'm back" can be believed.

I'm not linking it, no wish to expand the Tinpot Thread.!

Considering no mention of a fee and you only giving him a contract untill the end of the season, I think his agent may need the boot, considering the 2.5 year contracts being handed out this month it’s very surprising.

There was. He wasn't good enough. Unfortunately people still look at AG through 2019/2020 season blinkers. Apart from Salford away he hasn't performed when called upon. Like all town fans I wish him well but its time to move on. Frankly it will be a relief not to read the "why no grant" posts every time a team sheet is released
