Ollie Crankshaw? How much do you guys reckon we paid for him because it's never actually been released by our club and not seen any of our 'In the Know's mention the transfer fee.

Nominal fee I reckon - £50k-£100k.

I believe we paid £45k for him and apparently we made a ‘small profit’ I heard it was £50k so not much.

Fair enough, sounds about right as didn't we pick him up because he was out of favour with your manager? Think I remember there being an interview with your manager where he basically said he was shit despite scoring and assisting and we signed him shortly after that.

He's been great for us in the national league but he doesn't really fit into our 3-5-2 formation and Challinor doesn't seem to rate him playing through the middle and he definitely isn't a wingback. Fantastic impact sub to have, but not sure how long he will want to keep on being that for us when I think he could probably play regular first team football elsewhere in league 2.

We will see from our recruitment over this window, but I think we will be sticking with a 3-5-2 as our main formation. We have Whitfield coming back from injury who is another great winger, so who knows.

He didn’t score but he got an assist, it was a 2-1 loss against Crawley where we looked appalling. He came on and got an assist and our commentator said something like what did you think of Crankshaw when he came on he looked to make a positive impact? In which Adams replied in his charming way did he? Then he was gone days later. He played the most minutes for us in pre season so it was strange that he went so out of favour, must have been a falling out.

Personally never rated him that highly, think he scored one on his debut and a couple of assists over his 9 month spell or whatever it was. He looked a bit powder puff against defences at this level, but maybe his scoring streak he went on with you will have helped his confidence. But not a league 2 player for me, unless he improves.

I reckon he's probably passable League Two but you know the level better than me.

He's definitley a "better off the bench" kind of player. Just adds energy, bit of trickery and can crack a finish in. When he starts he gets lost in the game somehow, probably not helped by us playing 3-5-2 as Ellis says.

I can just see him having a similar role with us again next year, just an impact sub. He can't cross a fucking road though considering he's a winger, if he works on that all summer he really would improve tenfold.

Sounds about right his best two games for us were 10 minute spells against Stevenage and Crawley off the bench at the end of the game. Can’t remember him having an impact at all when starting, when he was here I called him the new Gilliead I.e someone who looks neat and tidy without contributing anything. Then we actually went and brought Gilliead back to the club in typical City fashion! He scored 1 goal in 40+ appearances…

Really hope we try to move him on this summer. He's got a good work rate but nothing else imo. Also hope Abo Eisa is half decent...

Genuine question, can you remember the last time Gilliead had a shot at goal? Seems to be forever.

No I can’t his goal was a tap into an open net, I’ve never been so confident in someone that they won’t score in and around the box as him.

Danny Johnson is available, probably for free, he’s just a poacher and was never going to fit in this team. Rawson should get picked up at this level.

DJ and Rawson will both get League 2 football next season, Cloughie just didn't fancy them.

Yeah his end product is actually very poor, he looks a lot better when he's playing really high up on the pitch cutting inside more as a wide forward (sorry to talk in FM cliches) as he is one of our better finishers. Think that also says a lot about us being desperate for another striker alongside Madden as I don't think we can bank on Quigley coming good again as much as I would be desperate for that to happen for him.

Wouldn't surprise me if Crankshaw isn't with us by the January window.

We really should be going all out for Johnson, the amount of balls Ferguson and Sterry put in good areas that no one gets anywhere near, he'd be ideal.

He’s definitely a good poacher but that’s about all he offers hence why it never worked at Mansfield, I imagine he’s probably available for a free transfer.

Must say, I’ve just seen Bradfords announcement tweet on that. Nothing against Sutton the player but that announcement is one of the worst fucking things I’ve ever seen and would fire the media guy on the spot if I was the owner.

Thought the same thing. Its about the level I was aiming for on PowerPoint like 20 years ago.

I think we need to shoot the Twitter guy after that video and tease, my god he’s a squad player who barely featured under Hughes and most were surprised he was offered a new deal not a star signing.
