Not a rumour as such but Crawley lost in the Sussex Senior Cup tonight (yawn) to Eastbourne Borough...actually a bad result because we had a pretty good team out.

One of the goals by Eastbourne was from Greg Luar. He was actually picked up by Hull city when they were in the Premier league. Obviously he ain't madre it there but worth a shout for a league one or two side. Not going to make the side this season but definitely worth a go.

We had him on loan as a kid. He wasn't very good.

Amar will take it and keep the cash for himself

Any good?
It’s likely though, we are desperate for a new CB to stop our defensive woes and I can see JR backing Coughlan for that role heavily if nothing else.

He’s been absolutely atrocious, like conceding penalties so bad they look on purpose, constantly losing men, he’s been so poor.

As proven last season though, despite preferring to hoof it than pass it he’s a top L2 player in the right setup and his ridiculous pace gets you out of trouble.

Couple of rumours our end. Hallam Hope from Carlisle as a potential in.

Sadly, it sounds like Jerry Yates has been recalled from his loan and will return to Rotherham.

Birmingham have recalled keeper Michael Luyambula as he was not getting enough game time.

From the little I saw of him he looked to be a decent keeper in the making but he was always an odd loan in for us as we have a perfectly good keeper in Glenn Morris.

I did say they’d probably recall him like a bolt out of the blue. Did exactly the same with him to us last January.

As for Hope, his stock is down so can probably get him cheaper than anyone would have in the summer. His form has been dire compared to previous seasons, he’s been in and out of the team and he only has 6 months on his current deal.

We’d probably take a low offer.

Jerry Yates recalled to Rotherham....

Swindon have lost 36 goals in a couple of weeks.

Obviously it’s not the end of the window so anything could potentially happen yet. But if I was a Swindon fan with the potential of losing Doyle and Yates and then lining up Hallam Hope as a replacement, I’d see that as pretty much disastrous.

I'd be inclined to agree. I don't think that Hope was necessarily seen as a replacement originally, more like an addition to what we have.

Clearly that's changed now as Yates has gone back. I trust that Power and Wellens have made plans for this eventuality and we should see a couple of ins very soon.

Can you sort them out after the weekend?

I think Swindon will be back in for a bid to Bradford City for Doyle. Whether Doyle would fancy a move permanently is another matter of course. He is out of contract in the summer, and may wait for offers from Northern clubs in the summer, to be nearer to his Merseyside home

That’s a huge blow for Swindon but as others have said, I wouldn’t be shocked if one of Doyle or Yates returned this month.

Just an example of how the January window can fuck teams over big time.

Maybe Salford will be able to match Doyle’s ambition

Maybe now Swindon will finally take Bennett off our hands.

I would rather play an apparently shite actual striker than a kid.

Poor lad would get swallowed by Leggey.
Woolery isn’t a striker, though. Don’t quite know what he is, tbh. It’s not as if we have a brick shithouse CB we could stick up front for nuisance value.

We're rumoured to be taking winger Rob Hall on loan from Oxford.

I did say Yates would be recalled.

Swindon create a lot of chances though so Twine and Woolery should easily be able to replace Doyle and Yates.

I have obviously only seen him in one game, but that penalty has to be in the top five brainless penalties I have ever seen.

Don’t worry about losing the scorers of 80% of your goals lads, at least your most important player Anthony Grant is all signed up.
