Joshua Kayode signs for Carlisle on season loan from Rotherham.

Thought he was going to Swindon after the reports on here today, but looks like he was keen to return after a good spell got cut short earlier this year.

Really pleased. Expecting a big season from him and plenty of goals.
Makes note in diary - have seen a positive post about Carlisle from hellogregory...
Will need to book appointment at doctors - might be hallucinating.

I’ve been more positive this summer as we have a good head coach with a good idea and plan of what he wants in terms of recruitment. The complete opposite of what we had last summer.

I’m not predicting we’re going to be doing anything special, but we won’t be in relegation trouble like we were under Steven football terrorist Pressley.

Rovrum wanted a guarantee of first team football which we wouldn’t give and you would/did.

Sorry but there’s absolutely no way we’d guarantee that someone starts.

They’ve maybe judged it that he’s more likely to get games here, but there’ll be no guarantees.

Signed two more today...Some rwb from Carlisle who is a bad defender,And a 6/6 c/b who cannot get a regular game for Guyana.
Think we are paying each 8k a week which brings our spending now to over £8m
Most of these players nobody else wanted. Think we will a points deduction for FFP and a further one for not paying our players.

Barrow will win the league by ten points with all the good players who signed for them over us.

I feel a lot better now writing the truth. No more lies

yeah you are probably right. It was on one of those twitter ‘ITK’ accounts that stated ‘Carlisle have beaten Swindon to the signing of Kayode on guarantee of game time’.

so yeah, probably total nonsense.

Rovers have still not signed anyone and from Mark Palios' latest interview it doesn't sound like we will be any time soon. Have been building up our back-room staff though.

Clever man Palios.......If that second wave hits and the is no income coming in he may well be saving the club.
The down side of that is you may have no pre season like us last year and you may well find yourself signing a full team on the eve of the season...Expect some hammerings

We have got nine senior players contracted and the core of our squad is pretty strong at this level, so I don't think that will happen. In the current climate there will still be plenty of free agents available close to the opening game.

The Barrow Bolton rivalry is ramping up rather nicely I have to say.
Well Morecambe's lot on here are a pretty placid bunch and half the time you and HG fight each other about promotion/relegation prospects - so we need to argue with someone...
As for Bolton - before this closed season we didn't have anything against them... but the behaviour of Bolton, Evatt and largely Evatt's agent behind the scenes changed that. If you then add the arrogance/ignorance of a section of their fans....
As for the season - as i've said Evatt may succeed and take them up - or he may fail and take them down especially if they end up with points deductions for one reason or another.

It'll not last long, it was Wrexham three years ago, Tranmere for a couple of years and now chipmunx trying to instigate a Bolton one.

I think Mark is operating under the premise that there won’t be much in the way of extra funding to help with the pandemic from either inside football or the government and that most L1/2 sides get their main income from spectators. If significant money did become available then would need to re-evaluate. Also Mark is doubtful the 12/09 re-start will happen. From what he said it doesn’t sound like there is much leadership coming from the EFL.

There is validity in the points that both masi51 and RLC make. There is a strong nucleus to our squad, but it’s right that if we’re waiting until the season has a confirmed start that will definitely happen, then unlikely last minute signings of whatever quality will bed in straight away. Personally I’d like to see us bring in enough players to be able to put out a starting xi and fill the bench (assuming 3 sub spots are taken by the first year pros) in the short term.

Almost as spicy as the Chesterfield vs Dover rivalry that cropped up on here for a couple of weeks, around this time last year.
Why didn’t I know about this:lol::lol:

In other news Stephen McLaughlin is looking about done to Mansfield, was the first rumour that surfaced ages ago so no surprise.

We’ve agreed a deal with Aston Villa to sell our 16 year old midfielder, Ben Chrisene. The fee is rumoured to be £500k plus add ons, which is invaluable at the moment...

It’s a shame though that we couldn’t get yet another player to sign a pro deal. He made his debut aged 15 which was a smart move to try and tempt him to sign, but no joy.

Also, with Brentford failing to go up, we’re all hoping Ollie Watkins Is signed this summer after scoring so many. Plenty of teams linked with him and if he goes for big bucks we will bank a huge amount from our 20% sell on clause.

The latest teaser is a picture of Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants.

Anyone in L1/2 released any players called Patrick this summer? Or aware of any Patricks who might be available for loan.

Carlisle like giving their signings a build up what with all these teasers/clues. Only signing we've done anything like that for this summer was Kane Wilson, using a WWE Kane gif.

Media guy has to earn his keep somehow. I imagine him chuckling quietly to himself as he searches for gifs.
