Did not see that one coming, but he was on the bench Saturday and we all wondered why. Now we know. He is a good organiser, and does the simple things well. if you are leaking goals he will steady the ship. I understand he was a colt or whatever at Bradford so he is coming home. Surprised but pleased that we got a fee. Wish him well.

Derek Adam’s always liked Canavan, does this add fuel to the fire that he will be your manager soon?
Hope not.

Decent signing though.

I doubt Adam’s was ever in the frame. Hurst was supposed to come in, but then interim managers (Trueman and Sellers) have steadied the ship well - still in beaten - they’ve been given the job till the end of the season. As we know, Hurst now back at Grimsby.

Nah, this signing is more to do with new recruitment director, Lee Turnbull - who was at Scunthorpe the same time Canavan was.

Canavan is an old fashioned centre back (left footed) who does the simple things well, but on no account should be encouraged to do the complicated things, as this leads to disaster.

Bit like Ryan Delaney at Bolton - decent stopper, but no Beckenbauer.

Well, he’s an upgrade on Ben Richards-Everton, who by the end, couldn’t defend or find a 5 yard pass.

We’re already stronger than before the window opened. That, is the main thing.

City held talks with Adams after Morecambe gave permission to speak with him. Not sure whether this is dead in the water now, or whether still brewing in the background

From what I've read Mullin didn't really get too many opportunities under Mellon so a bit harsh to say he didn't do it at that level. Mullin can obviously finish but he is actually deceivingly quick and strong. He's played as a lone striker on occasions too and not done too bad but is better in a two.

I'm surprised Sam Smith hasn't done better with you. I would love to see him back here as a back up for Mullin because had he not got injured last season he would have gone on to get 10+ goals for us in a struggling team.
Mullin played almost as many games in his half season with us in L1 as the whole of his Rovers season in L2. I felt he wasn't given enough opportunity by Mellon in L2, particularly when Norwood wasn't fully fit. However Micky did give him a decent run of games in the L1 campaign and Paul didn't take full advantage, hence my reservations.

Smith didn't get much opportunity with us, so really hard to assess. Maybe you'll get the chance to loan him again, if the season continues.

Apparently we’re signing a player who is a) recovering from an operation, so won’t be available till he completes rehab and b) has just tested positive for COVID so the transfer is delayed while he isolates. Ideal.

Anyone have a player who is recovering from an op that is surplus to requirements?

We've cancelled Austin Samuels' loan and sent him back to Wolves. He was the very definition of a panic signing and is simply not up to this level.

We've got two signings coming in before Saturday apparently, one of them is a defensive player and it's close top being done. Please please please can the other one be a fucking striker.

We're apparently signing Bobby Thomas from Burnley on loan - he's listed as a centre back though, which is the last position we need to strengthen.

Some of our fans have found the missing link to Barrow's success - all we are short of are former players who had a couple of decent games for us in a mid table National League side.

Stuart Nelson (keeper) has extended his contract to the end of the season.

Tom McGill (keeper) has had his loan cur short and returns to Brighton. You may recall it was Tom who was knocked out in our fa cup game at Torquay and he was replaced by Stuart.

I dont know if he suffered a long term injury from that Torquay game or the club has just decided it would be better with to go with Glenn Morris and Stuart Nelson.

Some gutting news that Pope apparently broken his arm, tore his shoulder ligaments and was concussed in a bad challenge yesterday. That will be the end of his apps in a Vale shirt I assume and guess we will de register him from the squad so need another striker now!

Hopefully give the holy one a testimonial. With Theo unfavored we only have the injury prone Cullen and Rodney.

We've (Norwich) sent young midfielder William Hondermarck to Harrogate on loan and it looks like he'll be joined by winger Simon Power, who will be joining them permanently after cutting his loan at King's Lynn short.

Impressive recreation of Orient’s goalkeeping situation in 2007/08.
You had them with Nelson as number 1 if I recall correctly.

Morris has been great for Crawley since he stepped up to number 1. Under four managers you'd be hard pushed to name four errors and some of the saves are worthy of inclusion in a highlight reel with the very best keepers out there.

Seems that George Dobson loan has gone cold.
We're now looking at Hallam Hope and Anthony Grant on loan from Swindon hopeful that this happens before the Cambridge game Tuesday night.

Joel Lynch has pulled up in training and is going for a scan today so that signing in doubt. As a back up we're looking at Jason Pearce at Charlton who is personal friend of Molesley from time at Bournemouth together he has apparently fallen out with Bowyer.

We're being heavily linked with Harry Smith at Northampton.

It's a name I've heard, but I know very little about the lad.

My lads just told me we’re supposed to be signing Krystian Pearce, not sure where he’s heard this but he’s pretty convinced.

We had him on loan a while back. Lanky striker - not bad, actually.

From inside the club tbh all the transfer news I post come from the inside
You sure you’ve got the right Grant? Hope I can easily see leaving and the same for Joel Grant - Anthony Grant, not so much.
