We’re being linked with Maguire-Drew amongst other clubs according to a twitter account. Unlikely to happen though as Bonner said we are looking at loans and not a permanent.

Is he any good? Why is he out of favour?
Good player, has the ability to play higher. But something hasn't quite dropped with him mentally. Capable of scoring some superb goals and assisting ones with superb crosses, his numbers for us in terms and goals and assists are good and he played a vital role in us winning the National League.

For whatever reason this season Embleton has only started him in 2 league games and no one knows why. A month ago in a tight 0-0 game with Bradford he came on and his superb cross from a free kick set up the only goal for us in a tight game - He can be superb as a sub when needed. He had a good game in his last start with us in the EFL trophy, but wasn't even on the bench in the league game after.

I can only think that he's refused to sign a longer contract with us or Embleton doesn't like his work ethic because his fitness can be a issue, by 75mins he is usually knackered.

I can imagine the club are working hard to get a fee for him in this window, in the region of £50k-£100k IMO.

He played against us on Boxing Day and was as slow as a funeral.

Yeah if you watch Lapslie and Charsley, and Clarke aswell to be fair you’ll see why we could work around that.

Only Champ clubs will pay that as league one and two clubs can’t pay such fees due to the bail out from the PFA. I believe terms were put in place to stop fees like this if you accepted the grant.

5th signing of this window completed this morning. Ex Bury, Everton and Como defender, Matty Foulds.

Another Bradford/local lad signed. He left Italian side to come on trial, which is pleasing. Much needed back up to LB, Connor Wood.

Won a few bits and bats with Everton in The Prem 2. Seems a decent addition on paper.

Do you mean the extra grant available that restricted how much fees and wages you can pay? I don’t think many took up on that offer.

Bolton have signed Zack Elbouzedi on loan from us for the rest of the season. For some reason he has hardly featured, though we do have a lot of strength on the wings. When he has played in the EFL cup games he has been unstoppable, electric pace, scored goals and assists. Reckon Bolton will enjoy him, think it’s an error on our part IMO.

Who would you drop for Zach to play?
He's done well in the JPT games albeit against understrengthed opposition. Good for him to try and nail down a run of games and consistency at a lower level before coming back and make a strong plea to play.

I would have him coming on as an impact sub, especially when the opposition is tiring. With his pace he would surely be worth keeping as a valuable squad member. I would have him in ahead of Archibald that’s for sure even though he is injured currently. All depends who MA gets to replace the departed players.

Watters gone to Cardiff, blow for Crawley but what a great bit of business financially for them!

Fair enough, agree to disagree on this one and I think it's the right move to make. I just don't see him featuring when we have - Scully, Johnson, Rogers, Anderson and Grant. It'll be interesting to see how he goes on and how the tables have turned that Bolton are signing our fringe players!

Indeed, how the mighty (not so) have fallen, Bolton not us!

Watters signs for Cardiff. Undisclosed but reckoned to be somewhere between £150k and £2million. Take your pick.

21 year old scores that many for a small club in league 2 we have to expect him to be snapped up but its still a downer when it happens.

Casey

Edit: Sky say its a seven figure sum.

Let's start a rumour based on bugger all.

PNE have just signed a striker meaning Jaydon Stockley is surplus to requirements.

Loan until the end of the season?

Can’t see him coming to L2. Reckon he will get a L1 move, maybe with Tisdale at Bristol Rovers

Probably true. I was just trying to cheer myself up.

We still have two good forwards and back up so I think we will manage to survive.

Strange really... He's done very well in the short time since you signed him but is there a lot of evidence to suggest his performances will continue as opposed to just being a purple patch?

Watters is quick and strong. Gets the nudge on defenders and gets away with them so I think he will score goals here and at League 1 but championship...?

He has only played, something like, 22 games in total. Definite gamble for Cardiff but I do think he will be OK.

Casey

Edit: The other problem is I've only seen him play twice. A bit hard to make a judgement.

Watters will make it at in the championship. I've seen enough of him to know that. Might take a few years but he's got all the attributes.

As another O’s fan put on Twitter: “He’s all sizzle and no sausage”.

Plenty of talent. Two-footed, wonderful crosser of the ball, takes a nice set piece, has both the vision for assists and the knack of scoring goals.

All of which sounds great until you realise he’s fucking garbage at any of the other useful skills a professional footballer needs, such as application, attitude, tackling, tracking back, heading the ball, fitness, looking after himself away from the pitch, not giving the ball away in midfield or that most basic of skills: running. Kitman will be happy as JMD always comes off the pitch with a nice, clean kit.

In other words, there’s a real player in there. Just a shame that it’s a real luxury player.

Still only 23 so it might change, but you guys are the only ones who've kept him for any length of time. He seemed to like the idea of being a footballer and all the tattoos, dodgy hair etc but not necessarily want to put the work in to be one. He'll continue to bob about in lower L2 or the NL until the penny drops.

We cut his loan spell short as did Coventry and Wrexham.

It's utilising the loan facility that stops you spending, not the grant (from the PL not PFA?). Comments I've read would suggest the parameters surrounding the loan facility means quite a few won't qualify for access to it anyway.

I can understand loaning him out. We have too many wide players and he isn't going to get ahead of Grant, Rogers, Scully, Johnson or Anderson - and that's before mentioning Archibald or Howarth (one of which I think might leave on loan as well - probably Archibald).

As for Elbouzedi, he should do a job for Bolton. Electric pace, but his consistency in the final third isn't as good as the other options we have so a run of games in L2 will do him some good. He's been a victim of our progress this season because he'd be getting more game time had we been marooned in mid-table at the minute but we aren't.

If we sell Mullin in January I wouldn’t mind stockley as a replacement. Had him very briefly in our first season up and he did OK but Richard Money obviously wasn’t having him. Probably too good for L2 now though

We are talking to him . I understand its between us and Sunderland. I suppose if he wants to go to a successful club on good money he'll pick Sunderland. If he wants to live in the West country us.

Well the fact that Tisdale got the best out of him should go some way to you having a strong chance. His family are from Poole I think so taking another long contract in the north may not be to his liking. That said, money talks and if Sunderland offers him an extra wedge per week, it would be hard to turn down.

Maidstone's manager claims he found Max Watters.

Been put in his place by our COO/DOF with the words "You had him for 5 league games and still looked to trial him in the summer....five league games and training and our management saw him in a friendly for 45 minutes. I think this shows a genuine inability to spot potential".

I dont think the Maidstone manager need apply for any roles at Crawley in the near future!

Wow that’s an absolutely brutal and witty put down there by your DOF.
