We are signing Joss Labadie. Not sure we need another tough tackling midfielder though, but he does add experience, strength and power to our quite small and young midfield. Very happy and excited with these two signings to mark the start of our new managerial regime, early days still but so much more exciting.

Almost certainly going to be made captain.
Big loss for us - could play in any L2 midfield, granted not everyone’s cup of tea. Lives up that way apparently and was offered a longer contract.

He will be a good signing for you! thats when he is actually on the pitch, you will soon find he spends more than half the season injured or suspended, on a personal note i had no time for him and am happy to see him gone.

Hasn’t Labadie bitten quite a few people?

Which is the reason why I’m disappointed he’s left, I can think of 3 pens off the top of my head he won(vale, Walsall and tranmere) there’s probably more plus the countless free kicks, can’t help but think he’d be an excellent option to have next season but it wasn’t to be, no idea what the club offered him but it’s pretty clear it wasn’t that good, good luck to him with Colchester, no bad words from me.

KTF

That shambolic dive against us which was given as a penalty in 2019-20 with one of the worst refereeing displays I've ever seen in a ground can be added to that list of penalties as well.

Bruno Andrade leaves Salford a year early. Another Imp who moved there and left there pretty swiftly.

Waste of an 18 months for him. He'll not get a L1 gig after hardly appearing for 18 months but a L2 Club should be looking to get a good tune out of him.

Been told Jackett wants to/is trying to sign Oliver Hawkins from Ipswich as one of strikers who he had at Portsmouth and Joe Piggott whom he wants as our new striker.

Personally I think we have zero chance of getting Piggott as last I saw a load of the big hitters in League One wanted him. I think that one is more of an ambitous punt more than anything.

Also heard we want Ryan Allsop as our goalkeeper as well, but that one might be nonsense.

Word also going round that Conor Wood and Omar Beckles will sign by Tuesday.

Went to the bookies this morning and tried to put a bet on Port Vale winning the league but was told they had already paid out on it.
The bookies got stung twice by Port Vale last season, firstly they paid out on them winning the league in September after they won their first few games and then in February they paid out on them again to be relegated.

Spot on to be fair... there's fluctuations in form and there is our form last season!

Don’t think I’d want him tbh. Clearly went to Salford for the money and that’s not a player I’d want at Tranmere.

You need to learn when to stop Masi. If you could also learn to grow up at the same time and stop posting like a troglodyte, that would be appreciated by many on this forum.

James Clarke. Walsall CB and club captain released at the end of the season. I saw he played under Darrell Clarke so wonder if Vale might be interested

In fairness, if somebody offered me a truckload of money to play professional football twice a week I would snap their hands off.

True. But it’s not as if he was on minimum wage at Lincoln either where he would have been playing in a league above!

Think I’ll just have it in my head that anyone going to Salford and their “project” is a massive massive tool :bg:

He was linked but we've signed Aaron Martin and rumoured to have signed the Hartlepool CB which would be our four centre halves sorted I would think.

So that’s another one off the books by the look of it. Rumour is he’s Burton bound. Decent enough but replaceable.

However, we probably still need 10 signings so I really hope Matt Taylor has his recruitment A game this summer.

Mansfield have signed Quinn on a permanent contract after having him on loan since January from Burton Albion.

So much for your histrionics about staying in different forums. You really need to talk to someone about your insecurity driven superiority complex.
Yeah he waffles on in the League 1 forum about me and Robshep posting in there yet he was posting in the non league forum about me in early May, long before I posted anything about him in the League 1 forum.

Wo. Walsall are doing some good business this summer. Did he get released by Tranmere? He looked pretty good in the handful of games I saw him other than the playoff semi second leg.

Stephen Quinn signed on for a year, still quality on the ball with the ability to dictate play at this level, legs were fine last season so hopefully should be fine in that regard.

edit - just noticed northstandexile post.

Yep was released by us. Overall he’s been decent for us but he has a few mistakes in him. If he’s not next to someone that will literally tell him what to do and when then he’s dodgy. But if he does have that help that he’s great. Good luck to him.

Mannny Monthe signed for us.

I’m a little surprised at his destination as the indications were he was looking for a move back down south. Manny had tweeted his farewells last week so knew he was off. I’d imagine a deal was offered by Rovers.

If Monthe could stay switched on and his distribution was better, he’d be getting a deal higher up the leagues. As it is, his physical strength and relative pace are Manny’s main assets. I don’t think he’ll be that easy to replace

Walsall is further south tbf.

Monthe is good because he’s big and gets in the way. If he wasn’t the size he is he probably wouldn’t be a pro footballer. His ball skills are a bit hit and miss to say the least.

Remember a good bit of radio commentary from Bob Hunt - ‘Monthe strides magnificently out of defence……..but oh no he’s left the ball behind him!’
