Gutted Randall has gone but McAnthony confirmed the fee is 7 figures. Sounds like we’ve held out for a couple of months and got the best possible deal with good add ons. We now must reinvest some of it in the squad, as we are looking very light in some areas.

Good luck to him, he’s a class act and will do well at Posh.

Rumours of another young player on our message board - Danny Cashman, recently released by Brighton. Small, skilful forward who did reasonably well for their U23s. Born in Crawley, apparently.

Long way from home. Parents still here apparently.

Seen him play a couple of times but not enough to give a valid assessment but Brighton fans were a little shocked they let him go.

An article about him here...https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/19288263.albion-made-tough-call-let-danny-cashman-go/

Rumours we’re signing Liam Kelly, ex Oxford and Feyenoord. Training with us apparently. Some of our lot are getting all jizzy over this.

I’ve never heard of him. Seems a bit of a midget, too.

It is a long way, but a path travelled in the last two seasons by firstly Bobby Sanchez, who emerged from a truncated season's loan to become Brighton's first team keeper and get capped for Spain, then Haydon Roberts, who had a solid enough season last time, albeit as part of a very leaky defence. Both seemed to enjoy themselves and may have put in a good word for life at Dale.

we're fecked now Randall has left. Genuinely think we'll struggle for top half with the squad we have unless we do some serious business in the next few weeks. August is a write off already.

There seems to be some legs in this. He and his Missus social media with posts about “a new life” in Manchester and he’s started following Dale and Dale players. No idea of his quality as never watched him but seems to have a decent goal scoring record in U23 premier league games.

Always worth getting a loan or two off brighton they have some really good young players, we had ben white on loan a couple of seasons ago and he was brilliant for us and look at him now gone to arsenal for £50million, i don't understand why crawley hav'nt got a closer relationship with brighton being so close to them it can only be benificial to both teams.

That would be a good signing for you.

Seems to have lost his way. From an article I read it appears he needs a specific system and a specific role within that to bring out his best.

Could be high maintenance, I reckon.

Well, there is a, sort off, rivalry as the only league clubs in Sussex but we have two ex carrier bags in our squad and play host to Brighton women's team so we do have dealings with them.

Edit, (speculation) could be the club feel they would be swamped by the spending power so keep it at arms distance

Scored against us in the EFL trophy 2 seasons back, I thought he looked useful from what I saw that night.

We have signed Celtic keeper Ross Doohan on loan for the season. Was with Mellon at Dundee United last season. With Davies out for a long time makes sense to bring someone else him. Not clear as of yet who is number 1 between the new lad Doohan and Joe Murphy.

Anthony Grant has penned a 1 year deal. Was excellent last time in league 2, just have to hope his legs haven't gone. In Gladwin, Payne and Grant that's a pretty good midfield.

Harry McKirdy has joined now. His signing picture is him wearing a Buzz Lightyear t shirt. He's going to be either amazing or hideously bad isn't he!

Another signing. Mohammed Dabre an 18 year old midfielder joins from Volenti Academy. Its the same place that produced Poku who Posh just bought for a million quid.

Bit of a left field signing really.

I was excited when he signed for us but turned out to be gash. Piss poor attitude too.

Having said that, I fully expect him to have a screamer against us.

Yeah. I was hopeful but the fact we booted him out of our registered squad in January said it all, DC managed to get him re registered for the last few games as he wanted a crack at trying to get a tune but a few minutes in one game suggests he couldn’t!

Given how even everyone is this year, Swindon seem to be going under the radar.
From where we were just 3 weeks ago the transformation of the club is fantastic. On paper the recruitment is way better than we were expecting. Probably need a striker and some defensive cover but we seem very well stocked in midfield with some potentially brilliant signings.

Could all go tits up, of course, but I doubt we’ll be worrying about relegation.

Swindon should finish mid-table at worst, it looks like the path to recovery seems well underway there

Our squad is still very thin but we seem to have 2 decent keepers, a handy midfield of Gladwin, Payne, Grant and McKirdy but nothing up front at all apart from a youth product and a kid on loan from Ipswich. I think we'll do OK this season but we are weeks behind other teams preparation. The change in the club from 2/3 years ago is light years.

Agree with you. Next season I imagine we'll look to do some great things, assuming it doesn't go tits up this season and we get relegated!!

After his spell at Vale I'm hopeful he may have matured and grabs his second chance. Perhaps if he hits the ground running and can feel the love of the home fans it might spur him on. We'll see, I'm excited but wary of his time at Vale.

Anthony Grant didn’t come with the best reputation but he’s been superb on and off the pitch.

Interesting isn’t it. Sometimes players can just fit in at a club on and off the pitch, which seems to be the case with Grant.

We’ve been warned about a couple of our new players’ attitude so just got to hope the likes of Jevani Brown do an Anthony Grant!

Some of it comes down to management though. I think am right in saying it was Wellens at the time at Swindon who is pretty well respected in the game. Whether Garner is able to command the same or either Grant of McKirdy start thinking they can push their luck we'll see.

Grant is a brilliant player though, for his type of midfielder don't think anyone else comes close to him in this league.
