Fair enough, we’ve got a sensible structure in place.

Aye no doubt if our recent blip continues for much longer there will be some who use it as a stick to beat the club with. Personally I’m happy we are adopting this approach even if we occasionally miss out such as Politic.

On a happy note that sounds somewhat hopeful at least regards Gibbo.

Flitcroft had a crazy budget at Mansfield and wanted the club to spend more, it’s somebody above him or DC below saying not to break the wage structure.

We've confirmed Liam Feeney after he left Tranmere.

In our Twitter post announcing it, there's more Tranmere fans commenting than our fans. You'd think we have a rivalry or something.

Sounds like it could be Rochdale signing Tahvon Campbell using the money they got for Jake Beesley.

Yeah I mean we’ve a decent budget but it is based on performance from what we understand, I.e bonus payments when in the top 7 etc if players want to earn good money it’s based on how well the team is doing so up to them to earn it.

Good system and much better than a big wage to sleep walk a side into mid table whilst the players take their big paycheques up.

Hopefully Gibbo is back soon, he was in tears at Orient so didn’t look good but this is positive

Seems in regards to a potential keeper signing we are in talks with Ipswich regards signing Thomas Holy on loan. Will be interested in the length of this deal as Covolan already served two of his four game suspension. We haven’t been naming a keeper on the bench the last couple as DC just flat out said none of the academy lads are good enough. If it’s longer than a month that doesn’t seem promising for Covolan.

Idris Kanu has signed on loan for 6 months. Hopefully can add some depth to our creative ranks. Zimba the striker we brought in on loan earlier in the window is out for 6 weeks with a hamstring injury. Leaves us desperately short up top. Need a forward beyond anything else.

Richard O'Donnell wouldn't be a bad signing as far as I'm concerned.

Apparently in for Omar Bogle according to some on Twitter. He'd be just the type of forward we need.
In respect to Bogle, the way Wellens treated him was nothing short of appalling. He was exiled to the youth team where his attitude was nothing but exemplary. He has shown excellent attitude since returning to the fold however I just don’t think he’s good enough at this level.

Had him a couple of seasons back, didn’t get much look in to be honest to judge, did score a 96th minute equaliser against Exeter but that was about it, seems to have done ok since at Peterborough.

Can’t be any worse than Mike Fondop, Will Goodwin or Mark Cullen.

FYI- We recalled Simpson only because there was a contractual issue with him being on a season long loan; and his contract expiring at the end of the season (with an option for a further year). This has now been resolved and he will be loaned out again before the end of the window, Mckenna has all but confirmed this. He may well go back to Swindon but I'd prefer to see him at a struggling L1 side.

Err, couldn't it have been resolved over the phone?

I'm pretty sure due to red tape they couldn't trigger the 1 year extension if he stayed on loan until the end of the season. That's best guess; but top and bottom of it is for that or another reason, recall was neccesary to protect us. He's definitely going back out and I wouldn't mind him going back to you guys as momentum is big for development.

Sounds like Liam Feeney is coming in after he left Tranmere.

They paid him off so that's why he's accepting a huge pay cut I imagine and the Keith Hill factor.

Decent signing for you. Think you’ll need to add at least a couple more experienced heads to have any chance of avoiding the drop though.

We don't have any chance already unfortunately. We do desperately need experience but we need to show ridiculous form to stay up and I don't think experience will fix that at all.

Feeney wasn't going to get much opportunity at Rovers now, so made sense to move on. Don't give him total responsibility for set-pieces though, as Hill did with us, it's a weaker area of his game.

As expected we sign a non scoring 30+ year old striker on the cheap.

Well if there was ever any doubt, that's sealed L2 football for us again next season.

Elliot feels a bit like we’ve gone back to Lee Turnbull’s summer recruitment of signing unwanted L2 rejects. The silver lining is we don’t have a target man to suit the high number of nippy number ten types so he does offer something different to what we have.
