John Akinde joins Col U. I’d say that’s a decent signing.

Yeah good signing.

Another club down the bottom taking League 2 survival seriously.

Meanwhile Carlisle, with the a worst attack in the football league, in desperate need for a centre forward, will end up signing no one or at best a young untried novice from an u23 team.

I predict you'll sign Jermaine Hylton. (Based on absolutely nothing)

John Akinde! Will it be the Akinde that couldn't score for toffee with Bristol City and Crawley or the Akinde that ripped up the leagues with Barnet and Lincoln?

He never worked out at Swindon either but I strangely liked him. Had the bandiest legs I've ever seen on a footballer but was skilful and showed occasional flashes.
Had his contract ripped up with us! cos to be frank he was just bloody useless.

Some of the fellow relegation boys making some decent, experienced signings. Meanwhile, we are relying on a couple of U23 lads to dig us out of trouble.

Same for us. Cumbria must be very popular with the under 23 demographic.

Millen seems to suggest you've still got a couple to come in so we will wait and see. Cooper has effectively said our business is over unless someone goes out the door.

Meanwhile the silence is deafening at BP. We’ll get what we deserve come may for standing still in this window.

Akinde is terrible, 1 goal in 20 games says it all, especially in a Steve Evans side where we often set it up to ‘whack it at the big man’.

9 goals in about 70 over 2 years. Probably a nice guy and everything, but pleased he’s off the wage bill.

Also 2 and a half year deal for a misfiring 32 year old? Lol.

Might not have worked out for him at last couple clubs, but he’s exactly the mould of forward we have been missing. Hopefully it works out.

Agreed, all of it has been in the leagues above so hopefully the step down will give him a shot in the arm, we desperately needed a bully boy up top, hopefully he'll be it.

Risky signing for Hartlepool but it could well come off and considering who they are likely able to get to the club that’s probably best they could do currently, especially considering he can do the business at this level, that much is proven but if he will again is anybody's guess!

Two and a half year deal on a free after Donny ripped his contract up, teams have often said how we play decent footy (but often lose) we've decent technical players they're just soft as clarts, we've now Bogle up top who is a menace, a 6ft4 centre mid and a 6ft6 CB.

Might finally score from a corner.

Happy with Bogle. Just need two or three more and we might just salvage this transfer window.

Our young centre half Shadrach Ogie has signed a new 2 and a half year contract with us, he's been decent this season - still learning and developing his game but if he continues his good form into next season then a bigger club will eventually buy him from us. Has the pace skill and ball playing skills to have a decent career higher up.

Out of curiosity what else do you think the squad needs? Goalkeeper almost certainly now Mitchell has left, feel like we're more than covered at the back in all departments, a Nathan Thomas type wide midfielder? If Lee fancies switching up to the 'cup formation'

will have to do better.
I saw him last season in L1 and he hardly moved/seemed bothered, and that wont be good enough in any division.
Wish you guys all the best though now we have played you twice!

Definitely a keeper,we should gave spent money on a good one In the summer, who could actually keep us in games.
Defence i think with were ok.
A strong mobile midfielder, hopefully Fletcher is the answer,as Feath & Shelton are too slow now.
A winger to to help Mols, supply Ogle & Grey, they could be a great partnership.
Carver,Cullen as back up.

I hope we can find someone... looking at the decent strikers signed by other bottom-half clubs though I don't really see anyone who might have signed for us. Older established players stepping down a level usually don't want to travel to far flung locales like Carlisle. Unless they're based somewhere like the North-East then we're rarely in for those kinds of player unless we get the chequebook out. If we were ever in for someone like Akinde then we'd probably have to offer him considerable more than Colchester will have offered him to get him to come up.

Pools being linked with midfielder Joe White from the Mags, featured a few times on the bench for them this season, England youth international, clearly has the ***highly rated*** tag.

Alex Kenyon or Harry Davis sent to join Fylde today and be replaced by Anthony Grant if all rumours are correct

Be great for Grant to get a move. Everybody here loves him to bits. Fantastic player at this level, top league shithousery, obviously will be short of match fitness.

Everyone will wish him well.

Harry Davis confirmed as left to join Fylde.

Think it speaks volumes about our summer recruitment when our captain and big summer signing leaves to join a team in the Conference North.
