Only thing we're 'going for' is not being in a relegation battle next April.
I think you'll have a good season. Wild is a great appointment, I'd be surprised if you're near the drop.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I am surprised to be honest Carlisle have signed a striker, I still think there is goals in that Carlisle front line from last year. Patrick is easily a 20 goal striker without worrying about it and I think there is 15-20 goals in Dennis if they could ease that pressure off him from trying to play the role of breaking up the opposition defence and create holes for others and let him just focus on getting into the box.

Carlisle's problems for me in the dribs and drabs I could see are in midfield......no ability at all to control or dominate a game, and a lack of creativity out wide., the central areas have been changed so may do the trick, but they really need something out wide. This is the area that will define the season, either pushing us on or holding us back.

I'd still also liked that dependable centre back figure who you know can do his job week on week, but those are hard to find and I think easier to locate during the season when some higher up centre backs fall out of favour and become available.

Dennis hasn’t had 15-20 goals in him for 5 years

That's Ben Garner now signed Mandela Egbo (RB) and Jojo Wollacott (GK) for Charlton. 2 players we offered contracts to. A journalist last night stated he is trying to sign Louis Reed who is interested and if he does go, despite the fact we would need to be financially recompensed as he is under contract it would be a massive massive blow as he makes the side tick. I guess it also depends on whether Jack Payne signs a new deal as to how much of a rebuild we will need to do this season.

Either way, he's an upgrade on whoever we had last season, and featured quite a bit for a Sutton side who did well. Not expecting him to score loads, but he adds some much needed height to our attack and should hopefully compliment Waters.

Lad from Chelsea looks decent, but we've seen it all before with #highlyrated players.
Young Premier League players are always a risk. Sometimes they pay off, other times they don't.

We signed Man Utd U23 captain (Will Fish) last summer on loan for the season.....got terrorised by Paul McCallum and was barely seen again.....

Arjan Raikhy was another one. Aston Villa Youth Cup winning midfielder played a handful of games and fell out of favour.

There is obvious talent there, but neither really showed it for us in the NL.

Bennett is a cracking signing. I really liked him when he played for us. Really great hold up player who linked up superbly with Alex Reid. Soon as Bennett left, Reid's performances and goals dried up.

Bennett had about 15 assists before we binned off Gannon, replaced him with Rusk and loaned him to Hartlepool

Seriously? I couldn't stand him here. And that was in the NL. Did he even get a sniff at Sutton?

I'm suprised he's got himself another FL contract, fair play to him.

Raikhy isn’t too fair IMO, he’ll 100% have a good career. Looked very good for us before he broke his arm, good on the ball and a great delivery on him.

McClelland the young guy from Chelsea does look very promising, but yes there is always a degree of risk - but as he is already a full N Ireland International the risk should (hopefully) be low.

He was pretty good for us. Reasonable target man and linked up nicely with some decent touches. Chipped in with the odd goal. Didn’t ever establish himself as first choice but got a lot of game time with injuries and the amount of matches we had to get through. We tended to sub both strikers most games so he got a lot of minutes off the bench too. All in all happy with him but not devastated he’s gone, we should be able to find a similar level or better replacement with a bit of luck.

Raikhy did look a good player, I think he'll have a good career too. He was never poor for us or anything. But like most his age, particularly middle of the park tbf, he drifted in and out too much to dictate or enforce a game.

He could absolutely ping a pearler of a pass but then do nothing for 20 minutes. I still remember his lovely cushioned pass for Crankshaw for the 5-3 goal in the win over Bolton.

You reckon you'll go for him to see if he can step up to League Two? Seems a natural step.

Bennet did a superb job for us outstanding really.

Regarding young players, When DC was here at the start of last season he got a young lad
From Milwall "Tyler Burey". once he was played it was obvious he was way, way above
The NatLge standard. He got injured and returned to milwall for treatment and his
Loan ran out, When fit again he was placed in the first team squad and has gone from
Strengh to strengh.
So when they do pay off they really do.
I would go as far to say he was the main reason we had such a good start.

Looks like a true Fan.
With our history of shit owners, like many down here, we'll always be wary and cynical. Still waiting for something to come and bite us. But everything he's promised, he has done and more. A local man and he does have the capital. We probably couldn't have hand picked anybody better tbh.

I don't think he's even in it for the publicity- he looked very shy on the pitch the day we won the title. Looked like he just wanted to celebrate quietly with his red wine.

The only player that seems passable that has been released by Notts is Alex Lacey who did play a fair amount of games for them. Centre half.

Lets hope some of your other fans(we all have them), Don,t start getting abusive towards him if things
Don,t go according to plan.
I don,t see why they should, DC will make sure of that.

I don't see a situation where even the mardiest fan could begin to even have a snipe at him never mind be abusive.

DC will be gone in the next 1-3 years IMO. He's destined for bigger things. Managers, players come and go. The stability of the owner is most important really.
