If the Vernam to Grimsby thing is true and we're waiting on reinforcements, we were linked to two loan signings today - one seem a go'er but the other has been blocked because of an injury to a first teamer.

I'm still a little sceptical that we're going to let one of our own players go when we could have three or four of our attackers as loan players, which could snooker us a bit. Of course, we could sign permanently as well but there's little talk of that so far in that position.

Clough has said in recent weeks there’s a player who we have offered money for and we may have to up our bid. The bit about him talking to the agent saying that sounds very much not like Clough

I would rather us try and sign Will Swan from Forest on a permanent deal, who’s got a good minute to goal ratio this season and I think will play comfortably above this level, he should be starting more quite frankly.

Jake O'Brien is a big imposing ball playing centre back who I was impressed with last season. He's been on loan at Molenbeek in Belgium this season along with striker Luke Plange. It will be interesting to see how he does in the Championship as that's clearly a step up but I reckon he's going to have a good future and evidently so do Palace.

Us and Pompey are also linked with O’Brien but you’d imagine if Brizl City are in for him then we couldn’t compete.

Another note on Dallas - only player in the National League so far this season with double figures in both goals and assists after this weekend. Useful player to have around.

We've signed Josh March from Forest Green on a permanent deal. Don't know a great deal about him, not the best goals to games ratio but FGR fans seem generally positive about him and the role he played in their promotion last season.

Not sure how many more we're going to add before the window shuts. Before the Orient game Evans said our Saxon Earley replacement had been agreed and only been held up because of a minor injury or strain or something. I'd be surprised if the window closed without us adding a body in that position. Outside of that not sure if anyone else will be coming in, we have Elliott List to come back as well (injured in July) so he'll be like a new signing when he's back in the fold.
