McGoldrick barely broke sweat scoring a hat trick against us, looked on a totally different level. If he could do that against a League 1 defence, imagine what he’ll be like at this level.

McGoldrick probably won't happen. He's far too good for the farmers leagues

Is there a source for this McGoldrick story other than the usual bedroom dwellers on Twitter? Looks to be a load of old bollocks.

Did the same to us away and also scored 1 against us at home, the bastard

Apparently he has already been offered a good deal elsewhere and we aren't offering him a long enough deal.
According to the most itk poster on the fishy it’s a done deal and will be announced later in the week

Curtis Main the latest name linked. St Mirren’s manager has gone on record pretty much hinting his wage can be double/trebled in the EFL.

On paper and going off what ex-club fans are saying it would be an unusual one. Especially as one of the only things we lacked last season was pace upfront. Sounds like a bulldozing type of striker but we already have two of the type.

At this point it’s impossible to tell which rumours may have substance or which media outlets are looking for clicks from us.

Chucking around five-figure weekly wages at this level is mental. Is this what the Notts County fans are calling the ‘moneyball’ approach?
We won't be spending anything like the money being rumoured to anyone unless Langstaff is sold for a couple of million, which is possible.
We have a pretty strict wage structure and I'm pretty sure we'd let any player go rather than smash it to pieces.
The McGoldrick rumour isn't going away though so maybe he is considering ending his career where it started or may be his agent is trying to drum up interest or squeeze a bit more out of Derby.

Never been exactly prolific - 1 in 8 is a poor return. The problem with your heightened profile is selling clubs will look to wring as much as possible out of you.

edit: I’m on about Main

After signing Dennis, Rovers now suggested to be interested in the Carlisle keeper and Senior, the released right-back. Must be time for another Omari Patrick rumour then.

It’s a hell of a signing if true and surely he’s instantly the best CB in the league

Doesn't strike me as the kind of player we will be looking at. Like you said we have 2 bigger strikers, we'd be in for somebody more in the Mullin style you'd think

Stockport County.
Hurst having a proper midlife crisis moment here. 8 grand a week for one player. I don't care how good a defender this fella is, we're in a cost of living crisis.

Heard from a reasonably reliable source that we're signing a player from Bristol Rovers, no name though and Rrodriguess is definitely going to Derby.
Belshaw has been mentioned a lot but again that's just because he's a Notts fan I reckon. Pretty sure he was at the playoff final but then so was McGoldrick.

Belshaw is still in contract, Nottingham born LB Calum MacDonald is on their released list and he's played for Barrow and Stockport so knows this sort of level.

Derby would be a great move for Ruben. I’d love him to stay but he needs to go for his own career really and find out how good he can be, we were lucky he gave us that extra year and completely knuckled down for the job after not getting a move last summer. In the end promotion was worth far more than whatever we’d have got for him.

Might be Harry Anderson who is actually out of contract. Has a place in Lincoln which isnt a million miles away. Cant think of anyone else it could be really

I saw he was released but we've just signed a winger and Coutts looks to be old and injury prone now.
Could it be any you've offered contracts to or are they all signing up?

We offered him a contract but it makes sense to sign for you for geographical reasons.
