Looks like Zanzala is having a medical with us today, don't know what to think about that!! there is a good player in there somewhere but to have your contract cancelled by both crewe and barrow and exeter not taking up the option shows there is a major attitude problem and i don;t think we want that sort of problem at our club.
I don't think there was any questions about his attitude when he was with us, he just wasn't playing as much as he wanted to.

I think he’ll be a solid signing for you. I think we’d have tried to re sign him if we’d stayed in L2. He had good spells at Accy and Carlisle so shows he’s able to be an asset.

Travis Johnson signs for Crawley on a free from Crewe after Crewe withdrew their contract offer.

A 6ft 1in right back, or so I'm told.

Any views Crewe fans?

Casey

I genuinely thought he was a poor player who was only interested in winning free kicks when under pressure.

Rumoured to have attitude problems and comes across as one of those "ballers" only interested in the lifestyle. Defensively suspect and doesn't offer much going forward either.

Scored a shocking own goal vs Swindon in 2021 that no professional shouldve scored. Quite happy to let him go. Astounded he's stayed in the EFL, mind.

I was at Barrow vs Ipswich in December and I asked a Barrow fan about him. Apparently he turned up with a massive entourage just to sign his contract. He was also the highest paid player at the club yet wasn't value for money in the slightest.

I dont know what he was like with us but the lads going to have more clubs than Tiger Woods at this rate. So there must be a problem with his attitude.

I don't think there's an attitude thing in there, he's just good enough on his day to get managers excited over him but not consistent enough to maintain a first team place.

One thing that Zanzala didn’t seem to have with us was an attitude problem. Always gave 100% in the games and was fully behind the fans and his team mates. Maybe it’s just a case of him not fitting in at Barrow…Don’t forget, Cooper was their manager and he’s well know for being a bell and.

Stockport County.
You're looking at what some clubs are bringing in, the numbers both in terms of personnel and wage and you know it could be a tough division. But then there is the pressure that goes with it.

This is why I'm happy with us going under the radar, making our non league signings, trying to develop talent. It just feels more sustainable.

In all seriousness, it'll be interesting to see how much football you get out of him. He's been a bit of a supersub/Plan B option for Luton over the past seasons if what I've seen is reflective of the last few years. I reckon if his game time is managed, he'll be a quality signing. Massive shithouse and tough to play against, not looking forward to us having to deal with him.

Going For It™ status: CONFIRMED ✅
We are officially MA$$IV£.

We already have the majority of our side together from last season (granted at least 2, maybe 3 of our best players will have gone).

But all our business has made sense so far, if Hylton can stay fit then hes going to be good for goals, as long as he dosnt watch the ball sail over his head.

Completely agree. Manage his minutes and know we are not going to get 46 games out of him. But I would rather 30 games out of Hylton than 46 of Danny Rose, Nicke Kabamba and Benny Ashley-Seal any day of the week.

Going to be winding up oppo fans up and down the land.

Someone also mentioned this on our forum, but with the rising cost of living, fuel etc do you think players will make more geographical based decisions on where they are going?

Hylton signing from Luton, Haynes family live in the county not far from Sixfields, Fox is from Burton. I imagine the journey that some would make previously from further afield is getting less and less appealing.

The obvious concern is that at 50 he hasn't had a league managerial gig. I will of course give him a chance and secretly hope that he was the brains behind our success last season and that Charlton will stink under Garner!
Meant to reply to this before, you could have said similar about Neil Critchley when he took over at Blackpool but he took them straight up to The Championship and they've looked solid enough there.

How bad has Rose been? Was surprised at how poor he looked in the playoffs. Really hoping he isn't the type of player we're looking at, a player who had a few good seasons 5 or so seasons ago and has been on a downward trajectory for a while but has racked up appearances at this level.

I reckon that for younger less established players moving for the first/second time this is definitely another additional factor/concern that they're weighing up.

Despite Rose seeing like a decent guy hes one of the players I have liked least in recent times. Mostly because most people who are that bad in their role wouldnt keep getting game time, but for some reason he did. Bringing him on was almost a sign that we were trying to wind down the clock, let his buy fouls, dive around, get booked, everything other than attempt to score.

He has signed for Stevenage now and feel like his style of play will be Evans dream. Think his days of goalscoring are done personally, but then again we hardly produced much at all in open play.

A decent chunk of his goals for us were scored under Evans (21 in Evans' season and a half or so in charge) so he's probably gone there in the hope of rekindling some sort of form like that. That said, I sincerely hope he doesn't...

Not as MASSIVE as Stockyport, And sustainable of course, you may have seen it mentioned
Once or twice on the board.
Nearly forgot also The land of Dream Makers as is Stockyport.

Buzzing with Hylton. 25 games out of him is better than 100 out of Rose and Ashley Seal. Think a few more additions (a decent keeper is imperative) and we could have a better team than last season

My Luton supporting mate say he's better with balls at feet than going long, so interesting to see how he fits in here considering our play style last year. Might make a get a good partnership with Appere, who wants to do stuff on the floor, but our midfield 3 rarely venture that far up the pitch and his neck's probably going to get a bit strained from the long balls from the centre-backs.

Fleetwood have just signed Brendan Wiredu from Colchester. Paid some decent money and he looks like he can be an excellent signing. Any Colchester fans out there ? What's your take on the guy

I liked Sam Foley when he was with us. Flys a little bit under the radar a bit, don't expect fireworks, but was tidy and consistent.

Matt Baudry has signed a 1 year extension. He's now 34 so suspect this will be his swansong. He ended the season really strongly last season after being in the wilderness so fair play to him.

Have been told by a semi-reliable source that we're trying to bring in Harry Boyles on loan from Sheffield United who was one of the best LBs in the National League last season on loan at Soliull.

Yep despite being a number 9 he’s not a target man or anything like that which I think people of other clubs he’s been linked to in the past have this perception of him. We have watched him for so long, so just kind of used to what he does but hes a bit of a strange player perhaps (absolute shit housery aside) not quick but likes to be in the channels to take players on. And good at finding pockets of space in and around the box.

He won’t deal well with balls fired up to him although next to a big man he might be the one picking up the pieces, as with his goal for us against Derby
